Hotel is parallel to Ermu street (the walking street), at the edge of the Plaka. Very nice lobby, nice and rich Greek breakfast, rooms are small but cosy. Quiet street, close to many attractions

Good value for money.

Firstly i must point out that the hotel
Is not 5 star near to 3,5 stars. It is located near all major attractions, it has a roof top with a partial view of the acropolis and a pool.
Reception staff friendly and helpful. I had a room on the fourth floor. It was extremely hot even though I turned off the heating and the ac did not work. The room decoration is unattractive, furniture is bit old, stained rug and a visible crack in the ceiling. The bathroom towels had its days as they are rough, bleached and uninviting. Breakfast was disappointing, undrinkable coffee and poor selection of fresh produce. Sleep quality is very poor.

For the 5 star rating and price have had better stays. Position great. Staff at breakfast could be friendlier. e.g. I asked the waitress for another knife on my way back to the table and she 'snapped they are on the table'. a few minutes prior she had cleared my knife away.

very friendly staff, center of city however out of the noisy streets of Syntagma Square (parliament square). Surrounded by nice wine bars, ten minutes walk from Plaka.

Book a room with Acropolis view, really worth it!

Room Tip: acropolis view

Although the staff were excellent and could not be faulted, the hotel itself was not 5 star.
The location is certainly central with easy access to all the tourist areas surrounding Plaka, however the property is located in a less than salubrious back street which rather depresses on arrival.
The lobby and reception promise much and are elegantly decorated. It's only when you view the rooms that expectations take a downward turn. We booked a superior room with Acropolis view and although there was indeed a view of the Acropolis, the room was anything but superior. Wardrobe space was minimal and we had to squeeze past each other to move around the room. We decided to upgrade to a junior suite and although this proved to be more spacious, the decor was rather drab and tired and gave off an aura of 1950's austerity. Breakfast was not what one would expect in a 5 star and we gave it a miss after 2 mornings.
The bar lacked any discernable atmosphere and seemed to close well before midnight.
The hotel seems geared towards the more elderly and sedate customer and seems to lack any of the buzz you might expect from a 5 star in a major capital. We're not particularly party animals, but the overall impression is one of gloom and lethargy.
I don't want to be harsh, but the overall ambience tends to deflate rather than elevate.
Having said this, the staff were courteous, efficient and accommodating. They were 5 star - the hotel wasn't.
