A good hotel in the centre of Athens. In walking distance of the main attractions and public transport.
Rooms are clean and the breakfast is tasty. The restaurant at the eighth floor has a good view of the Acropolis and Zeus temple.
Only the elevators are very small.

I was unluck enough to have a room overlooking the 8 lane major road immediately at the front. The traffic was 24*7 so it was immpossible to get any sleep. The rooms desperately need double or triple glazing to overcome this.
Otherwise - no complaints. Terrific views of the Temple of Zeus and the Accropolis plus very good restaurant.

Room Tip: Avoid the front of the building

Decided to travel to Athens for New Years Eve, we stayed at the Athens Gate Hotel for 3 nights, The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful on arrival. The room we stayed in was on the third floor and whilst the hotel boasts fantastic views of the Acropolis there was no such view from our room only a view of the apartments opposite. The room itself was very clean and came with a mini bar should you chose to use it and plenty of provisions of shampoo shower gel and hair conditioner should you forget to take your own and there was also a hair dryer and and iron in the room, There was also a safety deposit box available in the room which was free of charge , most hotels charge for a safety deposit box so it was a nice surprise to find that we didn't have to pay to store our passports and valuables safely. There was a kettle in the room but no coffee available and only two tea bags left no milk. The roof top restaurant and bar has a wonderful view of the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus is right on the doorstep of this hotel so within easy walking distance., hence an ideal location for all the main attraction that Athens has to offer, its perfect for sight seeing.
Breakfast was held in the roof top restaurant, it was nice enough but it could have been organised a little better, if you got there early it was ok, but when it got really busy it felt cramped, especially if you were sat on a table by the buffet tables as everyone was leaning over and no room to swing a cat, also they could have done with a little jug of milk on each table, if you drink tea or coffee your cup was on your table, the tea bags were on a table by the entrance, the milk was on the buffet table and the hot water came in a teapot brought by the waiter. so very dis-organised. Overall we had a comfortable stay at this hotel and found it perfect for sight seeing and good value for money and I would recommend it to friends and family or anyone fancying a short stay in Athens.

Room Tip: ask for a view of the acropolis when booking

My wife & I just stayed at the Athens Gate on our recent trip to Athens. It was amazing. We were treated like VIPs from the moment we arrived (even after a 2 day delay getting here). The room was very nice and the view from our balcony was amazing (definitely get a room with a balcony so you can see Zeus Temple from your own room). The room was comfy and plenty of room. It even included a small fridge(mini bar). The room service staff did a fabulous job every single day. The room was definitely a superstar!

Another superstar of this hotel is the rooftop restaurant & the morning breakfast. It was beyond delicious and so many choices. You won't find a better breakfast anywhere and the view is to die for. We could see the Acropolis / Parthenon while eating. That in itself is worth the cost of the room.

Do yourself a favor and don't look anywhere else when booking a room for an Athens stay. You won't find better at any price! You won't be disappointed

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of Zeus Temple!

Very nice hotel in a perfect location. The hotel is steps away from all of the major tourist attractions in Athens. It is very well maintained and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. This hotel is a great option in a big city.
