We stayed here for two nights in Sept 14. Nice quiet room (308), very comfortable. Breakfast was included and the view from the rooftop restaurant is stunning. Wi Fi not being included (apart from the Lobby and Restaurant) is disappointing but everything else was excellent.

We stayed at Athens Gate for 2 nights. The hotel is on a busy street (request a quiet room) but it's very well located, 5 minutes walk to the Acropolis and in a walking distance to Plaka (where all the restaurants are). The hotel is refurbished, modern and clean and the view from the room restaurant is beautiful. There is free wifi in the lobby and in the restaurant but it's incredibly slow. You can get wifi in your room for an extra charge but we haven't tried it.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room

Before embarking on a cruise of the Greek Islands, we stayed 3 days in Athens at the Athens Gate Hotel. The hotel is modern and spotless. The rooftop terrace is great for breakfast, lunch, drinks and dinner. Amazing views and a very attentive staff. It's convenient to everything and seeing the Acropolis and Zeus Temple from the roof was unforgettable. The rooms are a bit small, however. It was hard to get a transformer to be able to use some appliances. There were a few "Fawlty Towers" moments but maybe that added to the charm.

Room Tip: Try to get a big one. Ours was, in my husband's words, "too small."

Excellent location. In front of the Zeus temple, and 2 mins from acropolis and the new acropolis museum. I could not have asked for a better location. Despite the heat, we were able to walk everywhere as everything was so close. We were upgraded to a better room and from our room, we got perfect views of the temple of zeus. the mini tourist trains also stops next door. The rooftop restaurant is brilliant, not just for the views, but the food as well. The breakfast spread is a bit skimpy, but the quality is very good. The service was great, with a helpful front desk. Would definitely go to Athens again, and would stay in the same hotel. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Splendid views from some rooms. Askf or a room with a view of the temple of zeus or the acropolis.

My wife and I have just returned from a 6 night stay at the Athens Gate hotel, and we were very impressed with the whole place, the location and views are just out of this world, you are literally in the middle of everything that matters. The sights you can see whilst sitting at breakfast on the roof top terrace are amazing,so close to the Acropolis and Temple of Zeus, and its a 2 miniute walk to all the restaurants and cafe's you could ever wish for.We stayed on the 7th floor with a huge terrace overlooking the Temple of Zeus,it was so relaxing sitting out and watching the world go by down at street level.
We found all of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was really well planned and varied, and sitting with that view was the icing on the cake.
Athens is such a vibrant city and would urge anyone visiting to experience as much of all the various areas as much they can, most of these places are within walking distance from this hotel, and I must say we thoroughly enjoyed the walks we did because nowhere is too much of an effort. We would recommend this hotel for anyone interesting in staying in the centre of Athens and we would not hesitate in staying here again.

Room Tip: Splash out on one of the executive rooms with a terrace if you can.
