This is a huge and spacious apartment, fantastically placed so close to the main attractions of Athens, and with stunning views and, of course, the pool just tops it off. For a family from the country used to plenty of space, this apartment was ideal. Unfortunately, it let itself down with a general air of shabbiness, which was a shame. The kitchen was poorly equipped with utensils and equipment; half of the lights didn’t work; the ‘wireless internet’ was basically pinching someone else’s unsecured setup and was very intermittent and unreliable; and the rooftop patio was surrounded by nettles and badly in need of some maintenance. For some bizarre reason the wonderful view of the Parthenon had been partially obscured by planting a line of overgrown conifer trees. This apartment isn’t cheap, and despite its obvious qualities the attention to detail ruined the overall value.
