I stayed at Hotel Tony recently with my family on a trip to Athens. We found it to be a great value and location. We could easily walk to the Acropolis, Plaka, Agora, and the subway in 10-15 minutes, but the hotel itself is in a quiet, residential area away from noisy restaurants and bars, for a peaceful night's sleep. There's also a sort of pedestrian street nearby with several welcoming, but not touristy, restaurants. We had a fantastic seafood meal at one of them.
Our room seemed recently renovated and modern, the bedroom and bathroom were spotless, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a two-bedroom family apartment - it had three twin beds in the main room, a separate bedroom with a queen bed, and the bathroom. The bedroom with the queen bed also had a fridge and microwave. Some may be put off a bit by the approach through the surrounding neighborhood - it seems a bit run-down, but we felt completely safe, and the hotel was fantastic.More
