“Awesome!”
Reviewed 24 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

My wife and I are in the middle of a 2 week stay and Samui Blu lives up to all the expectation we had. Beautiful villa and a great location minutes from the beach. We will definitely be back.

“Beautiful villa in a tropical paradise”
Reviewed 5 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We came back last week from the most memorable 4 weeks in Villa Samui Blu. As soon as we entered the garden, we were welcomed by the most gorgeous smell of the frangipani trees by the pool, the smell always wafts in the air, a constant reminder that you are in a tropical paradise. The Villa is absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home. All the bedrooms (all with ensuite bathrooms) are spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. The master ensuite is particularly beauftiful and huge. The Villa is always fairly cool, we never felt the need to put the air con on, we always used the ceiling fans at night time to sleep which we thought were brilliant.
Our 3 daughters (aged 9 and 5 years old twins) truly loved the pool: believe it or not but once you are there, it looks much nicer than the photos. We spent hours on end on the sala in the evening reading our books and chatting - every night without fail, you can enjoy the beautiful fireworks and lanterns coming from Choeng Mon beach: what more can you ask for?? The garden is beautifully kept with lots of tropical trees: palm trees, banana tree and my favourite frangipani. The location is perfect. We hired a small car for the 4 weeks just because we wanted to explore the island, and we felt that we had probably one of the best locations on the island. Choeng Mon has a lovely village feel, it's not too busy and has plenty of restaurants on the main road and on the beach, our favourite one was Mr. Eung - literally less than 2 minutes walk from the villa. Choeng Mon beach has a lovely atmosphere, very much for families,. The water is shallow and great for the kids swimming although I must say it's not crystal clear but we didn't mind it too much because we were going to a different beach every day - we were there for such a long time and we wanted a bit of variety.
We were so so sad to leave, we could have stayed easily for another 4 weeks!
Thank you very much to the Hamiltons for letting us stay in their beautiful villa. We had the most amazing holiday, it will be very hard to beat! The Owens

“Private paradise”

I can't even begin to describe how wonderful our time here was. Coming to Samui Blu with my friends for second time in February 2015 and stayed there 21 days. Samui Blu is on great location with beautiful view to the sea. The villa is fully equipped and you feel yourself like home with all the comfort. It`s light, modern with private access to every single bedroom. The villa is in the same conditions as shown on the pictures.
I hope we have a chance to go back again:-)

“A delightful break in Cheong Mon”
Reviewed 6 October 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were a family of 4 with older children aged 14 and 19 so the set up with 3 self contained bedrooms all facing the pool and all that space was perfect for us.

Our week long stay in Koh Samui occurred after 2 fairly busy weeks in other parts of Thailand so we purposely chose somewhere where we thought we could relax and do nothing for 3 or 4 days before picking up the pace again. Samui Blu proved perfect for that. We were picked up by Yvonne and after dropping off our stuff she took us shopping so that we could get ourselves set up for the week. Very convenient and much appreciated.

The Villa is as good as it appears in the pictures and we pretty well lived in that pool and the sala for the first 4 days. The Cheong Mon area was a little bit of a shock at first, there being so many European holiday makers due to all the resorts, but we soon settled in to what we believe is one of the nicest parts of the island. We found some favourite haunts within easy walking distance including a fantastic little restaurant called “Mr Eung” literally 2 minutes away, the “Sala Samui Resort” for evening cocktails on the beach and the “Aroma Boutique” in town for a great morning coffee and authentic Italian made focaccia. Ah … all was right with the world.

We then hired a car for the last 3 days to explore the island, with the highlight being hiring a long tail boat to Koh Mudsum & Koh Tan at the south of the island. Driving in Koh Samui is certainly interesting and if you follow the advice that we got of “the bike is king” and “keep your head on a swivel whilst driving” you should be fine and you will have some interesting stories to tell.

Our other great find was a restaurant called “Barracuda” in Maenam. Not to be missed. Fine dining but very reasonably priced. We went there multiple times.

We found that the 4 days of staying put and relaxing then spending 3 days exploring was a good mix for us – remember that the island itself isn’t very big so you can do a lot in a couple of days.

We loved the size, ambiance and location of Samui Blu and think you would be hard pressed to find better in Koh Samui. Our only concern for future visits is the fact that there is a small apartment block that is being built directly behind the villa. It was in the construction phase whilst we were there and didn’t bother us, however it could become an issue once they are occupied as the top floor overlooks part of the pool area.

We are so pleased that the above guest enjoyed Samui Blu so much and thank them for their review. With reference to the small apartment hotel next door, we advise that it is now finished. The top floor only looks over a minute corner of the pool. It also looks over a part of the sala, where we have now placed a pull down blind. As this building is on the "blind" side of the house, there is nobody looking onto the terrace in front of the house or the house itself which is still very private. Samui Blu still enjoys it views over the palm trees out to sea.
There have not been any complaints from the many guests who have stayed since the above guest (early July) so we are confident that it is not detrimental to the tranquil ambience of the property.
