“Excellent get away from it all”
Reviewed 30 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We wanted a quiet holiday away from the maddening crowds , and that's what we had , the villa is very well equipped with satellite T.V , although it did go off for 2 days but thanks to the very well set out instructions we managed to sort it out.
We like cooking our own food when we are away, finding local ingredients and produce to cook with, & the kitchen at the villa has everything you need and more + the barbecue on the veranda is also a great way to cook and we used that on 3 occasions for cooking with fantastic results.
Its not a place for young children or the elderly if you find it difficult going up & down stairs as there is 3 levels, & the curling metal landing with its narrow steps leading up to the roof terrace is narrow and a steep climb or decent depending on which way you are going, but the roof terrace is a nice place to sunbath very private with stunning views.
We did try out the village restaurants, but they where average but at least not expensive, but we enjoy cooking so where happy to shop and look after ourselves, the village is very clean and the locals very friendly although not many speak English but luckily my partner speaks some Spanish so we managed OK.
So anybody wanting a quiet very clean villa that has WiFi and satellite T,V wont be disappointed if you had to stay here for a week or two, Suzanne who own the villa looks after everything and the instructions are very good to get you to the villa and for once you are there

“Spectacular views, spacious house, lively village”
Reviewed 5 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We have rented many houses in rural villages in several European countries, and Casa Concento is by far the best. Spacious rooms, comfy beds, very clean, lots of kitchen equipment (unlike many other house rentals, which are often stingy with plates and cooking utensils -- they are abundant here -- which was great for us, as we like to cook). The wifi in the house was strong and reliable (a welcome relief, as we found wifi to be dreadful throughout most of Spain). The views from the 2 decks at the Casa Convento house are stunning -- looking across several valleys, mountain slopes with other distant white villages, and a large lake. Blissfully quiet -- apart from the delightful hourly church bells, which stop at night. It's a 5 minute walk (steeply downhill) into the shopping streets of the village. But more like 15 minutes to walk back up the same hill. The house is at the top of the very hilly town -- which is marvellous for the views -- but not suitable for anyone with mobility challenges. We arrived by car, but never tried to drive in the village -- the streets are way too narrow. The lack of cars in the village streets only adds to the charm, of course. The village is well provisioned with several small grocery stores, 2 butchers, 2 fish mongers and a bakery (opening hours take some time to figure out). There is a tourist office at the town hall, where none of the staff speak English - as is the case for all the shop-keepers, etc. However, the locals are very friendly, and do their best with sign language. There are several bars in the town (4?), and much street life at night. One bar -- with the surprising English name The Heart Of Gold - is run by a friendly Danish couple who speak excellent English, and know a lot about the many mountain walking trails in the area.
