We stayed for 4 nights Mon - Fri in September. The hotel is spread over 3 buildings and we had a studio in the top building. The middle building seems to be duplex apartments and the reception building normal hotel rooms. Our apartment was very big with a fully equipped kitchen ( which we didn't use). The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is in the middle of the complex and had a buffet breakfast with everything you would expect these days. Also on this level was a 24 hour coffee/tea station and a lovely garden with fountain and sun beds. The hotel is in the middle of the UNESCO heritage part of Porto and it was an up hill walk to the bell tower, cathedral, shopping district etc and a down hill walk to the river and across the bridge to the port houses. Would definitely recommend for couples or families. Note the pool is not a swimming pool but a roman bath - I used it a couple of times to ease my acheing joints in the warm water after all the hill walking.

lovely old fashioned hotel, set in centre of the old town. I loved the spa here. lovely old fashioned living room with super high ceilings. real luxury staying here. the decor is old style. I felt like I was member of an old portugese/italian noble family staying here. bed is a little smaller than I expected for double to share with husband.

If they don't give you an alternative to book a massage when you ask the end of the day when they're trying to win they business, what makes you think they'll be helpful once you're actually staying there? This is a nice place in the concept, but the worst service that you can find. Run away.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel with a great location. We had booked a Triple Studio, but were given an upgrade. The great thing is that the hotel did not brag about the upgrade, and we realized given the details we had seen while booking. The size of our studio was good, and it was a duplex one. Cleanliness was perfect, and we had no reasons to complain. The people at the reception were great, and they gave a personal touch to the whole thing. We were greeted with welcome drink of wine, of course it is Porto. We had breakfast at the hotel, the spread was nice, and overall it was good. There are lots of eateries around on the pedestrian street on which the hotel is located. Just to mention one is Restaurante Irmaos Linos, where we had our dinner the first night.
River Duoro was about 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel, cathedral about 10 minutes, Palacio de Bolsa about 3 minutes. The Sao Bento station, with all the beautiful tiles, is just around the corner. We reached Proto by bus, and the taxi from the bus station to the hotel costed us 8.5 euros. Porto is a great town to just walk around, and the location of the hotel allowed us to do just that.
If I go back to Porto, I would not think twice to book this hotel.
