After some disappointing restaurant experiences as ignorant tourists, we had the luck to walk into Patua, which restored our faith in Portuguese restaurants!

The restaurant was excellent: a hip and stylish interior, a relaxed atmosphere, professional yet also warm and friendly service ... and the food was divine!
We had the new menu, which had some very original dishes, and everything tasted delicious! Tip: get the nutella moelleux for desert, it will blow your mind :-)!

The open kitchen allows you to watch the chefs work their magic.

We thought it was not expensive at all (+- € 65 for two 3-course meals including a bottle of wine and water), given the quality of the food.

A must do in Porto!

Been there a few times already in 1 of my regular trips to Porto and always felt amazed by the quality of their genuine food and service runned by "Armando" that recomended us their Rose sangria that is absolutely great followed by a really tasty sushi of portuguese sausage that we had to repeat once was so so good :) ..One of their amazing options is also the Francesinha fondue and the heteronimos of bacalhau(brilliant)
Also a nice place for a after dinner drink encounter upper town

Be sure to try the tasting menu. Every course is a complete surprise from the menu. A little bit more expensive but worthwhile!

When I arrived on a warm evening I asked to sit outside, which was met by a warm "Of course - we'll be right there with a menu". The restaurant was a this time empty but for a single table.
Ten minutes later one of the waiters broke off the cosy conversation with a colleague and came out with a menu... Fifteen more minutes passed, before orders were taken. At this point, another table was now occupied inside, but this shouldn't really be enough of a reason to be so incredibly slow.
Food arrived in good time thereafter, a glass of wine could even be found after a good leisurely time afterwards... The portions were fine, and the food was not bad at all, although the bacalao probably was the saltiest I have ever had in my life. Think salt with capital letters, written in neon...
