Booked a week here as part of jet 2 package. Superior room was worth the little bit extra. Nice breakfast, lovely staff. Pool area ok but near a noisy road. SPA pool great. It’s a bit of a walk into old town but not too bad.
To state the obvious, Four Views Baía has exceptional views over the beautiful city of Funchal. We had originally booked a mountain view room, however hit the jackpot when we opened our door to 903 and were treated to the Atlantic Ocean at the bottom of the city.
The hotel has a peaceful, Zen like orange theme, from the use of towels, loungers and reception area lighting. Before you think this is in anyway cheesy, it isn’t. It works so well to relax the mind and put a smile inside you.
It can be difficult to trust an app or website when booking a holiday. The Four Views, Baía more than surpassed our expectations and we are grateful to the hard working staff throughout for making us welcome in Madeira.
Breakfast is a buffet feast for the eyes and taste buds and caters for pretty much all tastes. There is an array of tempting meats, cheeses, breads, fruit and savouries to choose from, as well as ice cold Prosecco.
An extremely convenient shuttle bus runs from the hotel door to the CR7 museum at useful stages through the day, which saves the hassle of the albeit short 15 minute walk into the city.
In the evening, themed meal nights are available, as well as an à la carte selection and different entertainment in the adjacent bar, where you can catch the last of the rays glinting off the houses, sipping a drink during happy hour.
The swimming pools both indoor and outdoor, coupled with an excellent spa, sauna and steam as well as a gym, mean you can happily enjoy your stay without needing to move very far.
Overall, we have nothing but praise for this fabulous hotel and highly recommended it.

Uphill location 15 minutes walk from center, nice view if you have a front room, very small balcony, friendly staff, good food and wide choice at breakfast and dinner buffet, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor pool, 1 sauna and 1 steambath (to use with swimming suit, not naked !) both very small 4 people max; trunk stand was broken and telephone didn't work at check-in, were never repaired during our 7-day stay although we told reception on the first day; you have to pay for the safe which works only with a key; you have to pay also for the pool area (unless you take a treatment in the spa) and you won't get a bathrobe nor a second towel without booking a treatment : a bit disappointing for a 4* hotel :-(

Not all categories have the same views and the same services included, perhaps on a next visit you may consider booking a suite or a superior room (those rooms have wonderful views to the city and sea and they are located on the higher floors, free drinks on the minibar & water, bathrobe & slippers and SPA facilities daily included, particularly in the suites there is also a bigger balcony and more), we will be more than glad to provide you a fantastic experience and to assist you in a future reservation according to your personal preferences.
We greatly appreciate your comments about balconies, our architect when we renovated the Hotel decided to increase the living area in the room and created a bay window which usually all our returning guests appreciate this added value, this living area in the room allows you to enjoy the views either with sun or rain, you will always be able to enjoy the same wonderful views from the comfort of your room.

Recently stayed here, check in was quick and efficient. They let us check in early which was handy. The room was an adequate size and had all the usual hotel features. The views from the hotel are amazing. The breakfast was good, with lots of variety. The location is good and it is a short walk to the main downtown area, they also offer a mini bus service if you prefer. If using the pool area during the day, there is a lot of traffic noise, so ensure you take some headphones to block this out.
The only down point for me was having to pay extra to access the gym facilities, the hotel is rated as 4 stars and this should of been included as part of the room price in my opinion.

Straight from the airport, the aerobus stops almost right outside the hotel (stop 8), super convenient. If you are walking, walk up the small hillside to the right. It looks like a back-way, but is actually the foot path. You can then walk on a small trail next to the car lane up to reception.
I was greeted by a sweet woman there, checked in quickly. Wonderful and clean room, stunning view and local refreshments. The pool area is nice, there are pool towels in reception (1 for free, change is €1).
I was somewhat disappointed with the breakfast, much to choose from but it wasn’t really high quality food (e.g. Canned fruit instead of fresh). There was a chef preparing fresh omelettes, these were nice, but he skipped me in line and ignored me, which seemed very odd. Maybe a coincidence, but it was very awkward.
It was easy to walk by foot to city centre (there are also free shuttle busses though, but I didn’t use these), so the location was very fine. I used the luggage storage upon my departure, as I was going for a trip mid-day. I was happy this was possible. I would have been even more pleased if the luggage storage was locked or under supervision, but it was free of charge and my belogings were there when I came back, so all good.

Regarding your recommendations about our breakfast, which we apreciate, we would like to clarify that in fact we only use some canned fruit as a lot of our guests enjoy it but we have besides fresh fruit salad, daily 3 variites of fresh fruit, perhaps you did not notice but then again it could have been a coincidence.
Concerning our luggage storage, we have a surveillance system in the luggage room, you may not have noticed here but there are surveillance cameras in the room where you left your bag.

No air condition in function at our room, and with the door open you can't even relax or sleep well because of all the barking dogs that BARKS ALL DAY AND NIGHT!
The room was clean and room service okay, but there is nothing in the minibar and no option to buy cold refreshment at the hotel - besides in the hotel bar, so I recomend to shop refreshment at the supermarked at the shopping mall before returning to the hotel.
Spa was nice, remember to order spa treatment early before it's full.
Good breakfast, both warm and cold.
Shuttle bus thakes you down to CR7 museum, but there is not too many depature times, so we often walked.
The dinner option at the hotel is a very loud buffét.
Friendly staff at the reception, but the lady in the hotel shop was missing several times so we could'nt always buy the things we needed because of that.

We are very pleased to know that you had a nice stay with us, as we were able to understand by your classification. However we regret not being able to receive from you this time the maximum rating, as we would wish, we realized that if the window is open you will eventually hear some noise from outside, but if you close the window you will not hear any sound from the extreior once all our rooms are double glazed and areonorized. We also have an air conditioning system in all of our rooms, in the impossibility of using it correctly, as soon we are informed, during your stay we would be happy to help you.
