On our recent visit to Midori (Good Friday holiday) we had no option but to experience the buffet because that's what they had on that day. Unfortunately, either our expectations were too high or the restaurant needs to reevaluate their price/quality ratio. The buffet is 58€ per person (no drinks included) and it's all you can eat. However, sashimis are brought on request and they take quite a long time to come. There was a good amount of food choices but nothing any different than what you would find at a regular Japanese buffet in Lisbon. The meat at the hibachi wasn't the best quality either. And the dessert buffet was the biggest letdown: the desserts were too sweet and basically all tasted the same. Nothing unique at all about them.
Service was pretty good and the atmosphere is nice but the price/quality ratio just doesn't make sense. Our bill turned out to be almost 300€ for 4 people (we didn't order any wine or alcoholic beverages) and we left feeling as if we had just eaten at a Japanese buffet that would cost probably half the price, if not less.
It is unfortunate that this restaurant, one of the oldest Japanese ones in Portugal and located in a 5* resort, has such overpriced food for the quality it offers. We're definitely not going back.
