My sister and I stayed here for 5 nights, we chose this hotel based on reviews and affordability.

I really enjoyed that the hotel was clean and had air conditioning, it is also walking distance from various restaurants. We went to a steak restaurant about a 5 minute walking distance away and it was great.

I did not expect the rooms to be as tiny as they were. Even the “full length” mirror was half the size of the ones you can get at Walmart. The room being tiny wouldn’t have bothered me as much if the bathroom was a reasonable size but it wasn’t, in my opinion. The bathroom sink is very small and the shower is not fully enclosed. So the back of the shower is open towards the sink.

My sister and I rented a car while in Lisbon and there was no parking nearby so we parked about ten minutes away near the port.

If you are a “traveler” so to speak or a minimalist you’ll enjoy this hotel. If you are a vacationer and not a minimalist you’ll be disappointed by this hotel.

The Alfama is at your doorstep here. I also liked that they have a 24-7 barista machine. They have a large open courtyard interior, which was a nice reprieve to sit in after wandering the high energy Lisbon streets. The 4 stars is merely due to accessibility to the hotel from the street, especially with large luggage. The entrance is on a blocked "residents only" street plus with the busyness of the Alfama area, our driver had to drop us off about 150 meters away from the front entrance with our luggage. Maybe there was an easier way, but we never figured it out.

My daughter and I stayed three nights in this hotel. We enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean, well provisioned, and quiet. It faced the inside courtyard. My friend had a room over the street and he found it a bit noisy. I'm glad I purchased breakfast with my room rate as it was convenient, had excellent kinds of coffees, juices, and other choices. The hotel is well located in the historic Alfama district in Lisbon. We got a bit turned around trying to find the hotel one night after a long dinner so it's good to study a map and get familiar with the neighborhood. we walked to the hotel with our suitcases from the train station which was uphill and a challenge. so we booked a BOLT ride (like an uber) and after a few tries the driver found us to take us back to the train station on our departure day. BTW, we used Bolt quite a few times in different places in Portugal. the app is super easy to use, it's reliable, and really cheap. we found this hotel to be a lovely place to stay during our three night visit to Lisbon.

Room tip: rooms overlooking inner courtyard may be quieter than those facing the street

The hotel is located in the Alfama neighborhood of Lisbon. As most hotels in this area, the Uber could not drop us off right at the door of the hotel. The streets are narrow and blocked by a code to all but local traffic. It's a very interesting neighborhood and if you are used to hills & cobblestones very walkable. The hotel is centrally located in Alfama. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room we were assigned was very small and 2 stories. The stairs were narrow and it was hard to bring our luggage (carryons) upstairs. The small bathroom was downstairs which made for a precarious visit in the middle of the night. Beds were ok - not the comfiest. The "pool" shown in the images is not really a pool. The water barely sent to our knees & is small. Definitely a wading area on the patio. Free fruit infused water and coffee in the lobby & coffee maker in the room were nice. There was also a small fridge on the first level of the room.

The hotel was lovely and clean. It was in a great location and we enjoyed our stay here. Our room was small but didn't bother us. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon. Staff were very friendly and greeted us every morning and night which was nice.

Fabulous hotel is heart of Alfama. Lovely staff and efficiently designed modern rooms in an old convent. Peaceful inner Courtyard, perfect for drinks from the limited hotel bar. A little noisy at night with revelers in the street, but my husband was oblivious. Steps away from a beautiful Lisbon overlook. We will stay again off-season.
