The flat was very well equipped apart from there being no a small table in the sitting room which would have been helpful. We liked the décor - good mix of old and new. The central location was excellent and there was a very good supermarket in the nearby square. We took a city cab back to the airport at the end of our trip for Euro 12 but appreciated being collected when we arrived as it was late at night.
Magdalena Gold is really very special.
The preservation of the original tiles, shutters and floors is elegant and heart lifting yet investment in good mattresses and bathrooms means that there is no compromising on comfort.
Its location is calm yet ideally located for exploring.
Immediately round the corner are great food, coffee, castle, museums and galleries. Plus elevators (both up and down), trams, metro and buses which open up the entirety of Lisbon with ease.
We had the best time.
Visiting Lissbon with my best friends in june was fantastic! Casa Madalen is an amazing place, a house with a soul and caracter, nearby everthing! The communication was really good, quickly and helpfull.
We were lucky to enjoy the party of San Antiono, nearby in the Alfama area there was a fantistic street party. Thanks for the advice!
It was a really hot weekend but with the ventilators it was ok. Airco would have been nice but we understood that normally it is not that hot in Lissbon (39/40)
I can recommand everybody to book this house and I hope to come back soon.
Stayed in this apartment for our week in Lisbon, and you can not find a better location. You are right in the middle of everything, you're located on the top floor, have sea views, and are within walking distance to many if not all tourist activities. We could walk to the castle, churches, tile museum, cable car, and metro station. There is shopping, restaurants, fully stocked kitchen and you are around the corner from the food market. There is a famous beer tavern steps from your front door where we enjoyed a happy hour beer daily.
The apartment itself is like stepping into the 1700's of Portugal, the tile is worth the trip alone. The kitchen and bathrooms are remodeled, and there are floor to ceiling French doors that open to the street. It's incredibly charming. Can not recommend enough!
