“Excellent apartment, for up to three”
Reviewed 9 September 2018 for a stay in July 2018

We stayed for a week and a half in July and August 2018.

The photos accurately represent the apartment, except that they make the apartment seem somewhat brighter than it is. I suppose that can depend on the time of year and the weather.

The owner wasn't available when we arrived, so he arranged for a neighbour to meet us and show us the apartment. Although she only spoke Portuguese, she did a good job of explaining everything and telling us where the closest supermarket was.

The apartment was about 5 to 7 minutes away by foot from the Rato subway station. There route was fairly steep.

The owner was very accommodating when we asked to extend our original reservation by a few days at the same rate.

The description says that there's room for four. Two can sleep in the bed and a third person could use the sofa, but I'm not sure where the fourth person is supposed to sleep. I'd say there's only room for three.

There's a small park, a supermarket and several restaurants within a block or two. The parliament is surprisingly close, considering it's a residential area.

Overall, the apartment was excellent and I have no hesitations about recommending it.

“Great Location from which to see Lisbon”
Reviewed 2 August 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We stayed here for 2 months - really liked this cute little flat which is very near to many parks, restaurants, bars and attractions. Everything in Principe Real, Rato, and Bairro Alto are all within easy walking distance. Lots of fantastic little restaurants and pubs are even within 200-300m! Historic buildings around the area are absolutely beautiful.

You can walk to Rato metro station and once there, you are within easy reach of all the sites in Lisbon by metro (a day pass is a little over 6 euros). Apartment has everything you need for your stay, and there is a Mini Preco across the park in case you need anything at all.

Pedro, the owner, is very helpful and Isabel, the weekly housekeeper, is a true joy. The only minor negative is the motorcyclists in the next block who would rev their engines, but other than that it is a gorgeous spot from which to enjoy Lisbon.

“Excellent Location, Helpful Owner, Great Value”
Reviewed 10 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Quiet street around corner from pretty square of restaurants and mini-supermarket, handy for Metro, Pedro, the owner lives nearby could not have been more helpful, providing excellent advice about Lisbon, responding immediately to requests, his cleaner did a thorough job mid stay and he booked us a taxi for departure. The apartment is pleasant, comfortable and excellent value for money.

“Pick of the bouquet”
Reviewed 9 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Pedro is a charming host and he gave us a terrific list of restaurants and sights.
This is a comfortable apartment on a quiet street, just around the corner from a scenic little plaza called Praça das Flores. This neighborhood has been revived from its sleepy former days by an influx of new businesses and apparently many holiday rentals.
This is within easy walking distance and public transport to Principe Real, Bairro Alto, and Chiado neighborhoods. There are plenty of good restaurants within a few blocks.

“Perfect location!”

It's hard to add anything new to what has already been said in previous reviews. The apartment was well appointed, clean and with an extremely comfortable bed. Located within walking distinct the madness that is Bairro Alto it is a quite, peaceful oasis to come home to. At least 4 eateries in the adjacent Praca de Flores, with a fabulous speciality gin bar, it also has a supermarket, butchers and bakery all close by. We only stayed 3 nights but could easily have spent a week here and not left Principe Real! The only negatives, and hence loss of a point, was having to wait for the key to arrive and having to hand hold the shower head. That could be rectified with a few Euro spend. All in all, yeah, we'd go back :)
