Rare and old Port and Madeira wines collection, also by the glass. Me and my friends have really enjoyed our first dinner in Lisbon at this place. Very small, with just a few tables, it's great if you are looking for a quiet atmosphere. If you are a wine lover, this is the right place for you, the list of wines is extensive, and the owner is always available to give you suggestions and explanations. Regarding the food, everything we had was high quality and very tasty. I greatly advice the codfish confit. Best value for your money!

We went quite early as we had not made a reservation. They were fully booked but not until later on so we got a table - and were so glad we did. When choosing a wine to drink, the lady asked our preferences and brought us 4 different ones to try, explaining each carefully. Wine by the glass costs the same as it would by the bottle so we each had a different drink which we wouldn’t usually do. We had a mixed cheese and dried ham platter to share too and it was delicious. Such a friendly place where they made you feel that they had all the time in the world. But book ahead - lots were turned away while we were there!!

Top Place to drink local wines from Portugal.
This is a small hole in the wall..
However, warm people. They know their wines.
It's expensive. But serious.
The cheese were outstanding.
The bread could improve.
Wine options, well curated.
Overall a super experience.
Highly recommended.

Not cheap, be prepared to walk out, in comfortable footwear.

Drank many wines, cannot post all pics... But a few are attached...

Rui is an informed owner and Carla a great Somillier....

We booked this place months ago after reading the reviews and couldn't be happier to end our trip here! The service really was wonderful, although it was one person working the six tables. She spent a lot of individual time at each table giving samples and reviewing preferences that it was impossible for her to move any faster! We had a meat and cheese plate which was delicious and found her wine recommendations to be superb. My husband loves octopus so we ordered a tin of that and we didn't love it, although we ate all of it! We would definitely recommend this place to those who love wine, meat, and cheese! You need a reservation, so many people got turned away that night!

Rui was very clear in his email correspondence what the BA wine bar offered and what it did not, so there was no room for error.

What an experience!

The fresh local hams and cheeses were beautifully presented and a delightful accompaniment to the wines.

The lady who served us our wines was both friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She asked what our tastes were and what we were looking for (also our budget which could be important given some of the wines on the list!) and she offered us tastes before we confirmed which wines we wanted to have in our glasses.

A terrific experience from start (correspondence with Rui) to finish - where the bill was surprisingly small!

Highly recommended! But make sure you book ahead as the wine bar is both small and deservingly very popular!
