Group of us stayed here for a long weekend and it worked out perfectly. Thoroughly enjoyed a late night / early morning beer and D&M with the elderly night porter who was a pure gent. A (Brazilian) guy next door, not sure if he is affiliated with the hotel or not, dropped us out to the beach in his jeep for a few euros which sound. Overall, for a place to crash after a night sipping on super bock and cocktails in Bairro Alto this place is ideal.

Room Tip: top floor rooms have (small) balconies

Perfect location for those looking for a crash pad for their daytime explorations of Lisbon and nights out in Bairro Alto. Very basic amenities. Friendly hotel owners. Expect an email confirming your time of arrival from the owner directly. Brush up on your Portuguese before staying. Cash only at checkout (ATMs down the street). The only 2 downsides keeping this from 5 stars would be the sandpapery towels in the bathroom and the always-on cleaning smell in the stairs leading upstairs. (Fortunately the room smells fine!) I'd stay here again without hesitation.

Room Tip: No elevator

We spent four days in room 303 and loved it, except for the weirdly non-private bathroom. Great location, near lots of stuff, and friendly staff. It was very clean, and the room included a fan to keep us cool.

They spoke English, and were very helpful. Definitely call to confirm your reservation, as they say on the site.

Pensao Globo is a very good place to stay a few days in Lisbon: The hotel is located in the Barrio Alto but is quite calm, the rooms are small but comfortable and cheap (40 € for a double room with private bathroom) and the staff is very welcoming and helpful (and speaks english and French). I would totally recommend it.
