Great to walk around in during the day and to listen to Fado at night. Good variety of restaurants too.

Lots of narrow streets and remember, you're always walking either up or down no matter where you are in the city! Places to eat and drink and spend your money. Very charming.

They claim this is the oldest neighbourhood in the world - I don’t know if that’s true but it’s old enough and interesting enough to take half a day out of your time to see it.

Amazing streets and restaurants (the family owned five tables style not Michelin Star ones) - the walk and views are great, the food l’a even better and the locals are super friendly.

We took a food tour through the place (look for Treasures Of Lisboa - ask for Ruthy) which was ABSOLUTELY worth it - you lean about the place and food and - have a great time.

Wandering around the streets of Alfama is a relevation at every time. Lots of restaurants and cafes and interesting little shops. Not over the top touristy and lots to discover meandering over a few hours. The Fado Museum is a must see as authentic Fado will be difficult to find.
