“Excelent place to stay...”

We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to discover Lisbon. It's situated in a lovely narrow street/ passage (no traffic) in the heart of Alfama - Lisbon's oldest district, just few steps away from the wonderful viewpoint of Largo Portas dal Sol. The apartment is just enough for a couple, with Internet connection, perfectly tidy and well-equipped. Probably the only problem worth mentioning are stairs - both in the house itself (1st floor) and in the whole of Alfama - you need to be a good climber :).

The owner met us at the airport and drove to the apartment, on the way back helped us with ordering a taxi.

As to the location: it is few hundred meteres away from the Castle, the Cathedral and other major attractions. Rossio - the metro and train station (trains to Sintra) is also in a walking distance. Moreover, the famous tram no 28 passes close to apartment.

This was a great find and I would highly recommend this apartment. We are a couple in our late twenties/early thirties and wanted a quietish location but close enough so we could walk to the main sights/nightlife and this met our objectives perfectly.

The apartment is in the heart of the old Alfama district which is very charming and great base if you want to experience something more authentic than a hotel. It is located on a picturesque, quiet Alfama street just minutes away from the Portas do Sol viewpoint where you can catch the famous tram 28 (well worth a ride) or it is a 5/10 minute walk downtown.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, very well equipped with all the mod cons eg tv, dvd player, computer, free wifi, dishwasher etc and surprisingly spacious for 2 people considering the age of the building (200 years old I believe). The interior is quite modern and fresh feeling but traditonal/original features have been retained such as the quaint window seats where you can watch the world go by on the quiet street below.

The Alfama is a great place to be based during a visit to Lisbon and I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment. I would definitely choose to stay here again. It really is excellent value for money and lovely to be able to experience some of the Alfama charm.

A special thanks also to the owner Carlos who went out of his way to ensure we had a great
time. Carlos kindly picked us up at the airport when we arrived and drove us to the apartment where a welcome gift awaited us. Carlos also recommended local restaurants, bars, sights etc and was available to help with any queries throughout our stay.

I would most definitely recommend this apartment. We absolutely loved Lisbon, the Alfama and this apartment!
