In 2019 my travel agent accidentally book this hotel while it was under construction. Nuno the hotel owner, stayed with me until I was able to find another hotel. I came onto trip advisor to look at pictures of the hotel. I just wanted everyone to know Nuno is the most caring person in the world. I hope his hotel does well.

we did not like the hotel at all. we do not recomand it in any way.
the hotel is located in the middle of a very stip hill and coming up is hard. especially with luggage. after we got there we were told there is an elivator near by some place.
the room itself was in a bad condision . wall paper coming off and cealling seemed like some woden part of it was about to fall.
when people walk on the flor above it makes loud noises in the room.
it sure wasnt worth the price.
breakfast was ok , but nothing to write home about.
we will not be going back , thats for sure.

The Casual Belle Epoque Lisboa location could not be any better with the ability to walk around Alfama district and have access to other areas of Lisbon using transit.
First impression, as we walked through the door, wasn't "wow" as we found it to be gloomy with a very small reception desk.
Using the stairs to our assigned room on the second floor, the carpeted stairs, in places, needs to be cleaned. This theme continued into our room where the floor is completely carpeted and once again, stain evident. The bathroom is very small, which is understandable however, the recent chalking in the shower must have been done by a child.
The bed was comfortable and linens clean.
We enjoyed the breakfast which is offered on floor -1....yes, one level below the main floor but explained as "-1". A full selection of breakfast fare is provided.
The hotel rating is a mystery but I don't believe it warrants four stars.

We stayed in Lisbon Casual Belle Epoque hotel on 16-20 September 2022.
If you want to stay in a real 4-star hotel in Lisbon, this is not the place.
I still wonder how they deserve 4 stars and how they can apply such prices.
As for the situations I encountered:
1- They force you to walk barefoot after taking a bath in the room where most people walk around in their shoes. Because they don't have bath slippers, when I requested disposable slippers, the man at the reception said "we don't have them". I was surprised and asked "why?" He said, "ask the boss if you want"!!!
2- We came back exhausted from the 10-hour tour of Sintra at 6 pm. When we entered the room, the room was standing with the mess of the morning. The towels we left on the floor to be changed were still on the floor, and the empty shampoos and bath gel tubes were waiting for us in the bathroom. When I reported the situation to the receptionist, I got the answer "you should have said to clean the room in the morning before you go". This answer angered me and I explained to her the requirements of a 4-star hotel. But unfortunately, I got the answer with scolding and shouting from Ms. J, who is the receptionist. She was shouting at me and my wife and saying "you will respect me" and "I am not your child".
We are 60 years old. I can't accept them shouting at us both and I don't think we deserve such behavior.
As a result, these hotel employees have a lot to learn in terms of customer satisfaction.
I'm sure this isn't the first time this has happened to us. Because as far as I can see, the hotel management doesn't care. But I will report all my feedback to the Casual hotel chain as well.
If you are looking for a 4-star hotel in Lisboa, this is not the place.

Lots of problems, especially with cleaniness and service. This hotel needs to focus on making sure that the rooms are clean and that when there are problems that they can solve the problem in a timely manner, given the price point, I would not recommend this hotel.
