We stayed for four nites. Very friendly and helpful staff (especially Diogo). Our room was on the 3rd floor and was simple and adequate. Decent WiFi connection and the cable TV had a dozen English channels (after a long day, nice to kick back w some TV). All rooms seem to have a small fridge, but no other items if you are in need of heating something up. The balcony isn't usable, but it's nice looking.

Location of hotel is really good - near the Green line of Metro (as previous reviewer said, closest entrance is closed on weekends). There are enough small eateries to choose from within 2 blocks and a mini market about 75m. Very good value!

We didn't purchase the breakfast option, so no real comment on that.

Room Tip: We had 3rd floor (302 and 301). Great windows that open, but are thick to keep out street noise (but hotel is not on a busy street).

My mother and I spent the weekend in Lisbon and selected this hotel based on the positive reviews. We really were very pleased. It was an easy trip from the airport, with the metro stop (Arroios) literally round the corner from the hotel.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The room was also very nice - we had a TV, safe and small balcony (up on the 5th floor) and came home to find it cleaned each evening, with fresh towels. No complaints at all about the room and we didn't have any issue with noise.
One point to note, is that the nearest entrance to the metro station Arroios is closed on weekends. The station is still open, you just have to walk up a block (to the Praco Do Chile roundabout) to enter. It's only a few more minutes walk though and didn't cause us any issues.
It's a great location if you're happy being out and about. We would leave the hotel in the morning, hop on the metro, and literally spend the day out exploring Lisbon, not returning until the evening. There's also a handy supermarket around the corner from the hotel too (open until 9pm in the evenings).
All in all, a lovely hassle-free and easy stay. As the hotel is located on the way to the airport, we left our luggage there on our last day and just stopped off en route in the evening to pick it up. It made us feel like we had a full final day as well.
I certainly recommend this hotel, it was great value for money and a relaxing stay.

We stayed at this charming hotel during our recent first visit to Lisbon. Our preference was to find a mid-range hotel near Baixa, but we were a little late making reservations. However, because of this hotel's proximity to the Metro, we found it very easy to get here from the airport and to also get to the areas in the city that we wanted to tour and visit. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and tidiness of the rooms and hotel in general. Staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. The breakfast, which was included, was very nice and plenty to eat - had the most delicious melons that we could not get enough of. Although we were near the Metro, the neighborhood was more commercial than would have been our preference, although there was a nice supermarket very near that we used quite a bit - unit has a small refrigerator, which came in very handy. Would definitely stay at Hotel do Chile again, but our preference is a location which is nearer our interests.

Room Tip: Try to avoid top floor because of the dormer-type rooms.

As long as you know you have to take the bus or metro into town this is great. .Its reasonably priced because in the back streets but its spotless and does a good breakfast .
The photos here dont do it justice-its true that the back rooms have a useless view! but you dont stay here for the view!
Very near the original "Portugalia" for a beer and a snack or a full blown dinner.
Il faut prendre le bus pour aller au centre ville car situé dans des ruelles loin du centre. Mais il ya des commerces autour.
Nickel chrome, bon pt dej. Pas cher.
Il y a des cafés et le restau Portugalia à côté si vous avez la phlegme de bouger.

First time in Lisbon, but certainly not the last. When we return it will be to the Hotel de Chile. Very easy to get from the airport via the Metro, and pleased to find such a clean comfortable hotel at such a good price. The room was ideal for our four night stay. Clean and tidy, good facilities and free wi-fi. The staff were most helpful and obliging and the breakfast was more than adequate to set us up for the day exploring the city. Good little cafe on the corner and some good restaurants
within a few minutes walk. Great hotel in a great city.
