Book place, but expect no help from Sweetinn. Take a Cab to&from the airport. They are cheaper and more reliable.
Management tried to bill us €120 for what costs €40.
They showed up 1 hour late at pick-up, 1 hour even later with keys to get in (a sum of 2 hours late), and booked airport pickup never showed up for our return transport to the Airport (which part we have never received refund of).
After touring Portugal for two weeks, we were a family of 6 finishing in Lisbon for 3 days. On their homepage we had read, that Sweetinn arranged airport pickups. Since this was where we were dropping of our car anyway, we inquired for a quote for pick-up and return. We were quoted €60 which matched first hit for same service on google, so we accepted.
Upon arrival, noone was there to pick us up. He arrived an hour late, which is a long time to keep track of 4 kids, a bunch of suitcases AND searching the driver.
After a surprisingly short drive into town, we arrived at the flat, but noone was there with the keys for us. They showed up an additional hour late, which again is a long time to keep track of kids and suitcases in a semi-busy street.
Once in the flat, we were presented with a bill of €120 for pick-up service, suddenly saying the €60 was a one-way price. They argued this was because their cars were better (which they were not), and that they only used drivers fluent in English (he hardly spoke a word English). Only after I insisted they had quoted me €60 for the return trip, they agreed.
3 days passed all too fast. We had a great stay and the flat truly is great. Has everyting you want!
On departure day our booked return transport to the Airport never showed up. Neither did the girl supposed to meet us for checkout. She just told us to lock the keys in the apartment (which we did). I contacted her several times over phone, and finally she told us to grab taxis, since the shuttle bus "had had an issue".
Within minutes we had boarded two Cabs, and 10min later we were at the airport. Luckily still in time for our flights, which definately is NO THANKS to Sweetinn. They probably couldn't have cared less.
By the way. The rides cost us €10 each (including tips).
Add to all this, that the €500 blocked on my credit card were actually processed for no reason (and then refunded later). It doesn't amount to much, but -500 +500 processed through the fees from my Bank does not add up to zero. Also just a stupid thing to do.
All contact afterwards has been met by polite responses like "We will respond shortly" which they obviously never have done, despite numerous contact attempts from my side.
So my conclusion is...
You can keep my money. I still think you embezzled it, but I don't care anymore.
And to the rest of the world. The apartment actually is great. Both in layout and placement in Alfama. Just make sure you don't depend on help from Sweetinn!
