The sunny days in Alentejo are not innocent in the balance about the month me and my wife spent at Santa Rita. We had opportunity to follow in the family pick olives, as the ancients did! The landscape, the friendliness of those people, do assure that Alentejo and Evoramonte is the place return.

The house is very comfortable and very well preserved. The view from the porch, overlooking the castle and the olive trees, while reading a book, makes the hours start to fly.

“House on small side but outside area more than makes up for it”
Reviewed 31 October 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Miguel is an excellent owner. We arrived very late due to flight delays - yet he met us without a problem with the keys and useful information.
The overall experience was very good, the outside area and pool being very pleasant. Spacious outside eating areas, hammocks, big pool, privacy, beach toys, bikes etc.
The house itself is small but OK. The DVD/TV was temperamental and the house is somewhat cluttered with furniture and kichen cramped. Internet is not really a runner, though Miguel provided a dongle for use through the villa hub. The house is however well decorated, clean and even has AC in the living room. Indeed with some internal rearranging the house could be much more spacious. For the price the house is actually a bargain though and worked fine for the five of us.
The Alentejo and Evora area is much less developed than other areas of Portugal, which means it is quite nice to visit. Prices are noticeably lower than the Algarve for example and the food consistently good.
Overall we would score our accommodation 4.5 out of 5.
An excellent place at a good price,
We had a great time, visiting the local sights, white water canoeing and the like.

“Excellent holiday house in an undiscovered area”
Reviewed 8 September 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Our family (2 children aged 7 and 4) had a superb stay at Santa Rita. Miguel was very welcoming and the house and pool were fantastic. We had everything we needed for our stay. The surrounding area was well worth exploring and there was no shortage of interesting day trips to surrounding towns and villages. I would highly recommend this house to anyone (with a family or not) who is looking for great place to stay in a very interesting part of Portugal.

“Perfect place to get away and relax”
Reviewed 19 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

I'm returning from a 7 nights stay, and I can assure the house is a perfect place to get away and relax for a few days, near Évora, world heritage city

The house fits perfectly any family need, it is strategically located, between Evora and Estremoz, has a magnificient view to countryside fields and to Evoramonte Castle. You should try the sunser, over the swiming pool, tasting a Pasmados white wine. This will make a diference, on my return. Miguel is very nice landlord, always available.

Excellent ratio price/quality.

“A place where magic can touch us!”
Reviewed 19 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

In the last three months, this was my 2nd time on Monte de Santa Rita. Actually, I hope, the second of many more!
Alone or with friends, this lovely place in the heart of the Alentejo is right to put our life and head in order.
With typical Alentejo touches, the house is beautiful on the outside but inside does not disappoint us.
The friendliness and willingness of who receive us are unique but, honestly, what most attracted me was the landscape throughout the day. The peace of the fresh mornings which in a few hours become an unforgettable roasted yellow, wishing the nightfall is something that never happens. However, as the inevitable happens, it is impossible not surrender and get marveled with the carpet of stars that suddenly passes over our heads.

Definitely, Santa Rita is a place where magic can touch us!
I insist: go there and enjoy!
