Our first impression was the efficient and welcoming check in , nothing was too much trouble. the staff went to a lot of trouble to inform us about the area. A young man whose name begins with T on reception, and I apologise I was unable to pronounce his name was always extremely helpful and practical, nothing was too much trouble , he was friendly and very professional clearly an asset to the hotel.
The room was excellent , so clean and so spacious with our own out door area. The pool are was of the same high standard .
Breakfast was excellent, so much choice, the coffee not my style, however there was a coffee machine in the hallway that delivered a much superior tasting Coffee, so I was not deprived.
This was a great experience and look forward to returning in the future, as of all the hotels we have stayed in over the last 6 weeks and during previous travels this stands head and shoulders above the others and up there with our other favourite, keep doing what you are doing so well.

Room Tip: Ground floor have the outdoor areas which we particularly enjoyed.

We stayed in M'Ar De Ar during a guided tour in Evora and found it to be a totally elegant experience. We were totally surprised how modern and beautiful it was, too bad we didn't have our swim wear with us because their pool was very inviting. We had a group event on their terrace and the service, food and drinks was excellent. Very conveniently located at the main entrance to Evora and walking distance to all of Evora's sites to see. We wished we could have stayed longer!

Modern. Trendy. Friendly. Great Location. This hotel was a nice surprise as I booked it last minute due to a schedule change. It is extremly modern and clean. The rooms have all the amenities of luxury hotel in the US. The espresso machine in the hallway was a nice touch. Breakfast was very good and the view from the pool and bar are fantastic.

The location is perfect as you can walk anywhere in EVORA. It makes for a great base. Not to mention the free parking included in the garage!

Our room was on the ground floor and had a high window which faced a small side street. This did not bother us as we were only there for one night and are not big on "views." but if you are staying there for longer, I suggest you pay attention to your room selection.

All in all it was a great stay and we would return if we find ourselves in Evora again.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have better views.

The hotel itself is in a good location, right next to the aqueduct and within the walls. It's an easy walk into the centre of town (turn left on leaving the main entrance) which takes roughly 10 minutes.
The hotel rooms themselves vary, on the ground floor many have the old features, which include windows at ceiling level. Only a few of the rooms have a view of the aqueduct so if that's important to you, you will need to pay the upgrade or end up facing the back alley. My room was on the first floor and had been very poorly designed. The bathroom was especially illogical with the towel rail in the separate section housing the loo and taps that you could only reach if you climbed in the bath. Tip: if you want to switch from bath to shower you need to pull out the end of the tap, where the water comes out (I had to ask reception).
Breakfast is in the subterranean restaurant and was very nice. There are some coffee pod machines in the corridors that also dispense hot water should you want a cup of tea.

Room Tip: Select your room type with care. Ground floor rooms have little natural light.

Centrally located boutique hotel within the walls of the lovely city of Evora. Set in a historic palace with a modern extension; spacious and well-decorated guestrooms kept in white and brown. Our room on the ground floor also included a private terrace with direct view to the 16th century archiduct and the swimmingpool. Nice restaurant in the basement of the historic part of the premises, but you can also sit on the pool terrace. Very good breakfast selection, and the food in the restaurant was also lovely. Nice and friendly staff, especially in the bar (good cocktails!).
Your perfect place to stay a couple of days when visiting Evora and the Alentejo!

Room Tip: Ground floor.
