The most welcoming place !

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 Sept 2016via mobile
We had lunch here after visiting the Adega Mayor on a weekend of grape picking and wine tasting. The 4 course lunch was part of the wine tasting deal, and although we were surprised to be directed to a 3 star hotel after being at the incredible stunning winery, the service and food were great. The staff were so attentive and so friendly - it's hard to compare this professional service to any other place we have been.
The octopus carpaccio was delicious; amazing flavours. The gazpacho was a nice course in between the main beef Wellington dish, followed by a traditional local desert. All very good, finished off with the locally produced Delta coffee and chocolates.
I would return here!

I stayed for one night only and I found it a bit pricy for a 3 star hotel, but the facilities are good and the staff is extremely nice and very helpful.
I didn't get the chance to try it, but the hotel also had a very nice swimming pool.

Didn't stay in this hotel but had dinner here as we are staying at a nearby campsite. The restaurant is open from 7 30pm to 10 pm and is open to non residents. The menu was in Portugeuse but the waitress translated it for us. She was also very helpful giving us leaflets about the local area. We had a main meal but had a tuna salad with bread as a starter for free and also cheese and crackers after the main meal .The meal of black pork ( a local wild pig) was lovely . And with the complimentary starter and cheeses plus a bottle of local wine came to just over £35. We also got a free bottle of water. They were very helpful and ordered us a taxi back to the campsite after the meal. A very good evening and hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly even though we weren't even staying there.

I have never received such bad customer service, we spoke to the staff one morning because our air con was broken, nothing else was said to us and that evening it was still broken so we slept with the window open. Unfortunately some of the other guests in the hotel decided to have a party that night. When we rang reception they came up to check the aircon console and agreed with us that it was not working. The next morning we spoke to another member of staff who claimed there is no air con in the hotel, only atmospheric aircon, although she hadn't mentioned that the day before when we let them know it wasn't working in our room. When we complained about the staff during the night allowing people to congregate in the lobby and hallway outside our room until 3am they were less than apologetic and made an excuse that there had been a big party. To me that is no excuse, we were paying for the hotel to sleep, but were unable to because of the noise and the hotel didn't seem to think this problematic. We left a day early and found a lovely apartment in the town with air con in the room for half the price. We visit Campo Maior regularly but I will never stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel so that we could be close to the Capela dos Ossos - a must-see on our recent vacation to Portugal.
Walking into the lobby, I was shocked to see how nice it looked and how busy it was with guests chatting in nearby lounge chairs.
Checkin was beyond easy - they didn't have me fill out any forms and didn't even take a credit card imprint for room payment. I was issued a key and a tv remote and sent up to my room.
When I arrived in the room, I found a no frills basic room with all basic amenities. The most surprising thing was that there were no pillows on the bed. A quick search turned up 2 pillows in the closet - strange that they weren't placed on the bed, as a pillowless bed looks like something you see in prison movies, not 3 star hotels.
Breakfast was tasty but with limited selection - a fact which could be attributed to our arrival at the table 15 minutes before breakfast concluded.
The hotel had a number of amenities which we did not have a chance to experience - pool, outdoor areas, etc.
There was convenient parking directly across the street.

I would recommend this hotel if you're looking to be close to the tourist attractions. It surpassed our expectations overall, but the room merely met our expectations.

A friend and I stopped here for one night whilst on a motorcycle tour down to Andalucia. The hotel is centrally located, and has a car park opposite to leave the bikes. The staff were friendly, courteous and spoke a little English (which helped a lot) The room was spotlessly clean and a good size and the air-con was superb (and needed). The town is lovely with a nice central square where everyone seems to gather and generally hang out on an evening (it reminded me a lot of the Truman Show film) people of all ages just chatting and having a drink etc.............it was a really nice atmosphere and the hotel is just a 2 min walk from here. The local bar owner directed us to a really nice restaurant where we had a super meal and a really small bill (which was nice)
Breakfast at the hotel was the usual continental affair but plenty of it and a good choice. For an overnight stop we couldn't have done any better.....
