“The most perfect place to stay if you're visiting Ypres.”
Reviewed 5 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

If you travel to Ypres, then this is the only place to stay!!

I arranged a WWI tour of the battle fields trip for my father and two of his friends and thought it would be better if we could all mingle in the evening and share a glass of wine together rather than all lock ourselves away in our separate hotel rooms at the end of the day, so i looked into holiday homes / apartments in the area.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom town house of the Aurora Apartments (Holiday Home) and it was fantastic.
A beautifully styled house set out magnificently. Cleaned to perfection from top to bottom. Comfortable beds, excellent bathroom facilities and a well set kitchen.
You can gather in the lounge on the middle floor to discuss the days events, or simply sit around the kitchen table in comfort.
The views from the back of the property are magnificent, and there is also a lovely little outside area should you need a bit of fresh air.

Karin the owner made everything as easy as possible and nothing was a problem for her... But then, there could be no problems ever from what i could see.

There is the option for a parking space that is 5 mins walk away in a secure lock up for a few extra Euros each day and i'd suggest you take it as the roads in Ypres can be difficult to park in.

The location is perfect with everything approx. 5 mins from you; shops, bars, restaurants and of course The Menin Gate (which you MUST visit at 8pm!!!) just down the road.

I Honestly cannot recommend staying here highly enough. It's simply fantastic. Both myself in my early 30's and three gents in there 60's found it to be bliss.

Enjoy, and thank you Karin for a wonderful stay. Love the Welsh Chaps.

“Best stay of our 2 weeks in Belgium”
Reviewed 15 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

First off Karin the owner was incredible; always easy to contact whether at her business just around the corner or by phone. The apartment is in an incredible location and has everything you would ever need. Some of the upstairs windows offer great views over the city. We enjoyed ending every night on the carpeted terrace talking about the day. There is a grocery store literally just a few minutes walk (it was closed for refurbishment while we were there but probably opened back up by now). I highly recommend using the parking space for the apartment at a minimal fee. When we return to Ypres (Ieper) we will most definitely return here.

“"Fabulous service, fabulous place"”
Reviewed 25 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The owners of the apartment are professional, service minded and hospitable. They were there to solve any issue, however minor or major. They also had the added touch - a bottle of wine in the apartment upon arrival, along with coffee/tea and milk in the fridge. There was also information about Ieper's events throughout the year, prompting me to think that I may just need to return to this apartment.

“Nearly perfect!”
Reviewed 11 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

karin was an excellent owner and helped us a great deal beforehand an on arrival. The house was in superb condition, almost new looking. It has 3 good size bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. The only reason we couldn't give it 5 on the scale was that the accommodation was over 3 floors and there was no toilet on the 3rd floor, 2 bedrooms, great bathroom but no toilet! You had to used the toilet next to the other bedroom on the 2nd floor or go down to the kitchen on the ground floor! The house was in a great position for the twin and less than 2 minutes to the main square and great restaurants. Try the one that is next to the jewellers where Karin is based, we went on her recommendation and were not disappointed, book a table as it is very busy. We didn't have a bad meal in the town. Great Easter weekend, would recommend the house to everybody, thank you Karin. Too be picky, please get a bread knife and a cheese grater and then you will have everything you need in the kitchen. Karin had an under cover parking space 2 minutes walk from the house. 30euro for 4 nights was very reasonable.

Hi Dean
Thank you for the beautiful review
The reason we didn't made a toilet on the tirth floor is because we didn't want to put one in the bathroom, sorry if that disappointed you.But I am glad you liked your stay and the rest of the house. We hope to meet again!
Thanks
Karin
