This place was recommended to us by a friend who had been here before. You go upstairs and can sit out on the balcony and overlook the main square in Bruge. They offer 5 beers on their tasting plate for €10 each. Not bad value considering the location. They have 10 beers on tap including a fruit beer. They also serve coffee, snacks with the tasting beer and also soft drinks e.g. coke, Fanta, Apple juice etc.
Fantastic place to visit if you like beer and want to taste some Belgian beer in Bruge!

A fab location overlooking the market square. A good selection of beers. Beware though, a visit to the loo will cost you 50C. So dont over indulge!!

We decided that everyone sitting on the balcony of the bar overlooking the Markt looked like they were having fun, so we headed up. We didn’t visit the museum, just the bar, which is very dark and gothic inside but has the most amazing views. I’m not a beer drinker but the lovely bartender helped us chose a selection as a taster menu - 3 beers with chocolates to compliment the flavours, this is when I discovered cherry beer, which is a revelation! It’s good value, 3 small beers for around €10. It was reasonable cool and quiet inside so nice to get a break from the crowds. Worth a go!

Brew with a view for sure: the Duvelorium Grand Beer Café is located in the upper floor in a historical building in the corner of the Markt Square. They have a modest sized balcony where you can sit out and enjoy a great view overlooking the Markt.
We ordered two beer samplers (one each of the six beer varieties they have on tap). The sampler came with Belgium Chocolates that are paired with each type of beer. I had never heard of chocolates and beer, thought it rather odd BUT it really worked well. Very surprising and very awesome!
We also expected not to like some of the beers since they ranged from very light, to very dark, to fruity. They were ALL fantastic, especially if you cleansed your pallet with the chocolate!!
The atmosphere in the beer hall is just ok (nothing special) but the VIEW of the Markt, the BEER and the LOCATION are not to be missed!
