Likely just an off night, but the waiter and host seemed to be in a row all night which made for poor ambience (fighting repeatedly in front of customers) and worse service (sitting around waiting for the next course, water or wine, or the check). Even if an off night not professional.

We went there on a Saturday evening and to our surprise it wasn't very crowded. Friendly staff - delicious food and nice champagne & wines. Interior decoration a bit outdated but a very good experience overall.

We have been here before and we will be back again. We came for a special occasion while spending a weekend in Bruges. We had a reservation, as you should on a Saturday evening. We were greeted and seated immediately.

The restaurant has a high ceiling and is very elegant.

Since we were celebrating, we went for the Degustatiemenu (Gourmet menu)

We choose to also include the wine pairings for a very reasonable extra charge.
The order of dinner was as follows:

Wachtbordje - Appetizers while you wait
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ganzenlever / chutney peer / gerookte eendenborst / rozijnenbrood
Goose liver / pear chutney / smoked duck breast / currant bun
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sint-jakobsmossel / blanke boter / bieslook / appel
Scallops / white butter / chives / apple
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fazantenhennetje / truffelpuree / veenbesjes / boskampernoelies
Hen pheasant / truffle puree / cranberries / wild mushrooms
-----------------------------------------
Hoevekaasjes/Brugse beschuit/vijgenmoes
Our Maitre Fromager's range of cheeses with Bruges crackers

of / or
Tompoes Brugse kletskop / limoen / chocolade / zacht gebrande meringue
Cream slice with Bruges gingersnap / lemon / chocolate / soft roasted meringue

We had the same except I choose for the cheese and my partner the dessert.

As you will see from the attached photos, the food is gorgeous. It is fresh. It is full of flavor. You arrive hungry and leave totally happy. The wines are paired extremely well and the pours are most generous.

To close out the meal, we ordered espresso. Out came another tray of small desserts.

WARNING: If you order this menu, arrive hungry. You will not like leaving even one bite on your plate. Everything wass so good.

Enjoy.

This was a great meal with great service and a good atmosphere. We ordered three different fish dishes. Our meal came with a delicious appetizer and a wonderful array of small desserts. The coffee was great and the food plentiful and truly good. I would definitely recommend giving this a try! You won't be disappointed.

A little off the downtown center lies lthis nice restaurant. Not on the everyday tourist route but within walking distance to most hotels. Excellent food and service. An explosion of favors in every dish. All cooked carefully to perfection with fine ingredients. A restaurant out of the ordinary in a town with plenty of options. Wine list extensive but expensive. One has to look carefully for the better choices.
Sitting upstairs can be a bit noise due to poor acoustics. Worth the price.
