Great location with good public parking very close by. Average bedroom/bathroom and expensive breakfast. No tea/coffee facilities in room. Expensive bar prices compared to the host of nearby pubs. Would recommend purely on location.

You get what you pay for. IBIS provides basic accommodation at a reasonable price. Clean comfortable bed, clean comfortable room and bathroom. Heating controls were responsive and accurate. Everything worked. Common areas were clean and furniture, carpets were in good condition. Nothing wrong at all.
Staff were very helpful when asked but not very attentive.

Room Tip: A few rooms overlook the street. Avoid these. The street is cobbled, the car and bus noise is sign...

Very nice, clean hotel in just about the centre of Bruges.Arrived at the hotel about 11;00 a.m but friendly reception staff quite happy to book us in and use the room, even though check in is officially 2.00 p.m.Minimum fuss and staff bi;lingual.Room very clean and tidy with a shower bath and flat screen T.V picking up 3 english channels.Did not eat there but breakfast is a little on the expensive side but eating out in this city is expensive and a great disappointment. Nice bar open 24hrs with a good range of beers. The location is perfect and central to museums etc, try the tea;rooms called the Proverbe.Recommend hotel for a short stay, Bruges is not that big!

A friend and I stayed at the IBIS in Bruges for two nights in January as part of a North Seas Ferries' break and were very pleased with the accommodation, the location and the staff. I had stayed at an Ibis in Sheffield which was a bit unloved but this was in much better decorative order with the foyer having a facelift at the time. The rooms are what you expect from this grade and style of hotel - functional - but they were clean, comfortable and adequate in terms of storage. Decent shower and bathroom. Being a tea freak, I would obviously have liked a kettle in the room but the breakfast/dining room was nearby and I stoked up before bed. The staff were very helpful, extremely pleasant and polite. The hotel is partly housed in an old building with the rooms built to the rear and facing another similar hotel whose name escapes me and this arrangement created a small, quiet area off the main street at the time we stayed. January is apparently the quietest month and this was reflected in most museums being closed and no canal trips but for a first visit, we were happy to explore - especially since it was 10C every day.

The hotel is ideally placed - five minutes into the main square and everything within easy reach. We walked to and from the bus/train station without any problem and we are ladies of a certain age!

Bruges is a gem aesthetically and culturally. Another perfect view around every corner. And they do things with such style - even the small cafes present everything so well. It is very expensive to eat out compared to, say, Spain but perfect for a short trip and the food was good everywhere we went. There was a small cafe about 30 metres down the road from the hotel towards the centre which we found on the last day and which offered much better value than most we had tried for snacks/drinks without any lack in service or quality but I can't remember the name! I will try to find it on the site and write a review.

The people seemed cultured, extremely polite and helpful. I hope we show ourselves in our best light and don't live up to the stereotypical Brit abroad. Some lovely shops outside the tourist areas. Lots of lace and chocolate near the main square. Turn R from the hotel, head into the centre and turn left at the first square for some quite expensive but good shops. Turn right for highstreet stores.

A great place to stay for its location and value for money. Thanks to the staff for their excellent service.

We are a family of four (2 adults and twins aged 15) celebrating our 16th Wedding Anniversary. This is our fifth time in Brugge and our first time at this Ibis hotel.

Upon arrival our debit card was taken as a "guarantee of payment" and was told that no money would be debited from the card until departure. Not so! £600 (£150 per room per night) was debited which left us with nearly no money for our two day stay!. A manager then took over and realised the mistake and reimbursed us there and then but our card would not be credited till 2 days later.(The staff did not know the difference between a credit card an a debit card, if it had been a credit card this would have not happened! Luckily we spoke to our bank who transferred money to our card immediately (does not happen in normal circumstances). The manager offered us free use of their telephone though.

To top this off we were given two double rooms on the fourth floor, once in our rooms we could smell cigarette smoke, I suffer from mild asthma and found difficulty breathing that night so at 6am contacted reception and informed them of this, they then told me that the fourth floor was a "smokers floor", (they could have told me this when we we were booking the rooms). Unfortunately they could only move two of us and this was to the ground floor. As we walked to our room on the ground floor there was a distinctive smell of damp and sewage but was masked by a battery operated air freshner that sprayed every 60 seconds as you walked through the hallways!

Overall we were not impressed with the hotel but the Manager on duty kept apologising and offered us a weekday rate as compensation, oh, and free coffee!

Room Tip: Fourth floor is for smokers
