Well what can I say apart from BRILLIANT? myself and 3 girlfriends had been out for a meal in Bruges and were looking for a little bar for a few drinks and we came across this gem..the retro 70s music..the lovely barmaid and the owner made us so welcome..we were VERY merry and within half an hour were singing and up dancing and then got the rest of the bar up too...a totally awesome night..it really made our mini break..so to all at this fab bar..the 4 English ladies of a certain age..who enjoy a drink in a great bar thank you for an amazing night

Tom runs this great little friendly bar, nothing fancy, just old fashioned service with some great beers !

As soon as I heard that Tom had opened his own bar I couldnt wait wait to get there, and I was not disappointed.Small cosy and very friendly,a good range of beers and the best coffee in Bruges.Well done Tom,its a gem.

A lovely friendly bar off the beaten track and used mostly by locals, this bar has good beers, great coffee and enjoyable retro music.

Nice bar with great soundtrack in the background. Good prices and lovely staff! They sent us over a complementary drink and were helpful with the beer choices.

I am one of these fortunate people who visit Bruges five or six times a year.
Though Tom closes his bar on Thursdays I always try to pay him a visit at least two or three times each trip.
This is such a happy place, I never leave it with out a smile on my face. Tom will make you laugh, he will also supply good beer excellent coffee and soft drinks and even Scotch Whisky and the local gins. Available too is a little nibbling plate of cheese and smoked meat, just the thing to go with a good strong beer.
This cafe is very traditionally Belgian, with music of the 60s 70s or earlier from around the world played loud enough to be heard but not so loud as to be intrusive.
As a visitor to this beautiful city you will find a warm welcome here by Tom, the local folks, and the British expats who all use this place.
So if you are in Bruges and you can find it, drop into the Volkscafe I am sure you will not be disappointed.
