Atmospheric bar hidden down a little alley....great selection of beers served with a little dish of nibbles, great service.......we had 3 visits over a 5 day trip

While having a pint (what is new?) we got chatting to a Belgian on holiday. He told us about this little bar which we should visit. He pointed out this little alley on the map. This alley did not exist as we had passed that area so many times in out two trips. But, we had a look and lo and behold nestled amongst the shops was this tiny entrance. My Belgian mate was right.
The bar was fantastic, full of locals as they are the only people that know about it. My mate told me to try their local brew but three will see you on your back. I had two and had to agree. Nice touch was a little plate of Belgian cheese with your pint. A great find. Have a hunt for it but, please, keep it to yourself otherwise it will get packed.

This is a great bar, so take the walk down the alley away from the waffle shops and really relax. Gin is perfectly poured with a cookie on the side, and the house Tripel was perfect, served with a dish of delicious cheese squares. The atmosphere is comfortable and the owner is extremely nice. My husband's second visit to the bar, and I can't wait to go again!

Amazing little find. Exclusive beer "de garre " only sold in this establishment....and it's amazing stuff. 11% so go easy.

I have drank in this bar on many occasions over the years and have always enjoyed my times there. It is tucked away down a little alleyway which you wouldn't normally notice from the street, hence it is not a "tourist trap" but a delightful atmospheric local bar with a huge selection of reasonably priced beers. You get cheese and ham nibbles included and the service is excellent (English is spoken). Well worth a visit though it can get very busy.

Staminee de Garre was on my bucket list ever since I read a recommendation for it in the travel book, "Are You Two Together?" I am generally not a beer drinker but would be happy to drink it every day if it was the flavour and quality of this historic brew pub's house beer. The balloon glasses filled to the brim with frothy beer served with a side of cubed local white cheese will go down as my happiest beer moment in my life. If you like or love beer and are visiting Bruges, this place is a must!
