This is a beautiful deco hotel, steeped in history. The rooms are stunning, there's a pool and sauna, and the staff are really helpful. The beds are big and comfortable, and the price is reasonable.

There's ample parking, and you're walking distance from some good restaurants.

So, what's keeping it off of 5 stars? Well, it's the noise. When they refurbished, they never took the opportunity to sound proof/fix the floors. We were woken up at 1:30 am for 45 minutes by the people in the room above (who sounded like they were wearing clogs, but presumably weren't). This was presumably them coming in and getting ready for bed. We were then woken again at 6am by the same room. We can sleep through a lot, but this was SO loud. We mentioned it to the staff in the morning, who didn't seem to care at all.

We lost a lot of sleep, and providing a good night's sleep is one of the main purposes of a hotel! I'd love to give this five out of five as it has so much going for it, but one real flaw.

The wooden floors were also a bit dirty (they're vacuumed, but not cleaned, as you could tell but your feet after getting out of the shower and walking around for a few minutes).

Stayed here twice - on journey to and from France. Fab rooms, lovely Staff who couldn’t do enough to help - ordering taxis, ordering pizza delivery and helping with Tram tickets. Lovely upper terrace to enjoy evening sun.

Lovely hotel. Very friendly, helpful staff. We liked the ambience of this Art Deco hotel. We stayed here late July 2018 when outside temperatures were 34-36 degrees C. The receptionist provided us with an electric fan & mosquito repeller. It was peaceful at night, even with the bedroom windows open. We appreciated the more thoughtful & personalised approach of this hotel. The location was great . Free parking in hotel grounds. Easy to hop on a tram to go into the centre. Tram tickets can be purchased from reception. Would happily stay here again.

We were not expecting too much from this hotel but were immediately impressed on seeing it. So, main points:
Easy to find just minutes from motorway junction
Very helpful, friendly staff
Clean and spacious room on the ground floor with separate kitchen
Free parking
Pool
Wifi
Short tram ride into city centre
Quiet location in a wealthy part of Ghent with tree lined streets and parks
The weather was warm but the room did not have aircon, therefore open windows resulted in the first mozzie bites of our hols...
This was a one night first stop on a European touring holiday. Ghent is a lovely city. We took a boat ride and had an evening meal at the atmospheric Sint Jorishof Cour St Georges.

My family stayed here in August as the last leg of a road trip around Europe. It is very easy to find and has ample easy parking within the grounds. The hotel is in the "millionaires" quarter and Nisan art deco style inside and out in keeping with the locality.
It is within easy walking distance to the centre (about 20-25 mins) or you can catch the local transport in. The walk is well worth it though.
The rooms are very large and well looked after.
The staff are extremely friendly and speak a multitude of different languages and make you feel very welcome.
The bar shuts at 23.00 each night, although in reality on the night we stayed it was later. There is a great terrace on the first floor to sit outside on during the summer and is extremely pleasant.
Breakfast we very fresh and healthy.
It is a great location to be if you wanted to go running or visit the local parks etc.
It is very family friendly.
The pool is small, but has a current machine to swim against for exercise. The gym has ample weights, but the running machine is not very good- better to step outside the hotel:-)
Wifi was great throughout.
There was always pastries, sweets, cold water and croissants in the lobby to welcome everyone.
My only area for improvement would be to sort the Air Con out, which worked in some rooms and not others. I heard another resident mention this too.
At this price I would definitely recommend to you:-)

Room tip: Be nice to the receptionist:-)
