We came to Ghent for a museum and short city visit.
The hotel is located in a traffic low street and quite near to the highway exit.
We were allowed to park our car before checking in and after checking out at a reasonable price.
We had a Comfort room on the ground floor in the annex building.
The railroad is nearby so you have quit some noise from trains passing by.
Didn ' t bother us during our sleep (we used the earplugs that were provided in the room).
The room was comfortable with a good bed and cosy lighting.
It had a small but warm bathroom with a comfortable shower and here was one of the few times we used the hotel showergel and shampoo instead of our own.
Breakfast was excellent.
For our visit we took the tramway from Sint-Pieters station (less then 10' walk from hotel) to the city center.
If you 're considering a visit to Gravensteen, just do it: the stories and comments by Wouter Deprez via the audioguide will make it a special experience (we had the Dutch version, I suppose it 's the same in other languages).

Nice clean room. Friendly staff. We espacially loved the bubblebath and the lovely smelling rituals showergel and shampoo. Nice bed. The only thing that is that it is a bit far from the citycentre. But we will surely visit again!

Room tip: Ground floor. Lovely bath.

The Astoria hotel has clean bedrooms, great hospitality, is located in a quiet neighbourhood and has an excellent breakfast. We would certainly recommend the hotel if it were not for the subpar quality of the beds in our rooms. The mattresses were real back breakers and left one with a sore back for several days.

We stayed one night on New Year's Eve in a 'classical' type room in this nice little hotel. The bed was rather small (1.40 m for this type of room), but it had an excellent mattress and we slept very well. The room and the bathroom were very clean.
The breakfast was very nice: plenty of choice and good food.
The hotel is about a 30 min walk to the city center, but it's close to the railway station where a tram goes straight to the city center, or you can rent a bike at 10 EUR a day to explore the city. The hotel has a private parking at 6 EUR/night (which is less than what you would pay for a day in a public car park).
The 'classical' type of rooms being located at the street side, which runs alongside a railway, you may be woken up by passing trains. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to take a room a the back side.
The hotel's website provides a lot of information on the hotel, the different types of rooms, things to see in Ghent, ....
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay!

Room tip: Rooms at the street side are a bit noisy especially during the week, when a lot of trains pass by (street along a railway)

Location a bit far from the city center, but close to the train station.

I first got a room on the ground floor. I did not like neither the fact that the room was close to the street so you could hear the trains so loud and it felt like the room was shaking, nor that it was ground floor and my door led straight out. Once I notified the hotel of this I was given the option of changing rooms. I paid extra 10 EUR per night for a much nicer room (Bellevue room) and got nothing to complain about after that.

Bed comfortable and very clean room.
