We had heard a lot about Tongeren's flea market and had had it on our list to visit for sometime. It proved to be all it was cracked up to be with a vast aray of items to pick over from hundreds of stalls. The stall holders were friendly and plenty of them spoke English as the dialect in this part of Belgium is a mixture of German and Dutch that was quite difficult to understand. The only downside for us was that our hotel bedroom overlooked a car park a level of which was being prepared for the market hence lots of banging and crashing.
