Communication on the most part was great particularly the pre arrival information sent by the property managers. The property has a self check in process which worked perfectly well for us but we felt you do lose the personal touch by doing it this way. There's no one there to check that things are all in working order or to assist you if you want a run through of how an appliance etc works or just to ask a question. They do say they are only a phone call away but sometimes it's just nice to speak to someone face to face.
The location was great - just a short walk from the train station and right on the edge of the old town making it really accessible to be able to do day trips further afield to places like Bruges or Ypres. There are lots of restaurants and take aways in the area as well as some small supermarkets for the essentials.
The apartment was spacious and tastefully decorated. On the most part it was clean but there were a number of areas that were very dusty such as under furniture. There is a fire place but only one stick and a newspaper were provided so we were unable to use it. We felt that while most things that we required were provided we felt a dishcloth would come in handy so we could wipe down any spills on the kitchen table or hand wash any dishes. There is a washing machine and a separate clothe's dryer in a small laundry room outside of the apartment at the end of the corridor. This is shared with the two other apartments on this floor which could be problematic if all 3 apartments wanted to wash each night. Washing needs to be completed by 10:30pm due to the proximity of the laundry room to the end apartment so once again this could potentially make it difficult to find a time suitable to wash your clothes.
On the whole, we really enjoyed our stay in this apartment and would probably recommend it to others. We did, however, think the price point was a little over what we thought it was worth given it wasn't high season when we were there.
