This place was recommended to us by our tour guide, we weren't disappointed. It was extremely busy and we had to wait for people to leave to get a table. Once seated it took a little while to catch a member if staff so we could order. The staff were run off their feet. The food came quite quickly and was excellently cooked and there was loads of it too. Also great selection of beers. A bustling place away from the tourist area which is well worth visiting. We will visit next time we are in Brussels.

Visited L'Ultime Atome twice in the same week. It was very busy both times but the service was always great. The staff was friendly and took the time to suggest food and beer choices according to our likes. It is a good value for the money as the portions are very generous. It does get noisy as it it a large restaurant but not bothersome at all.

If you want an inexpensive dinner, but don't want to sacrifice quality, this is your place! A lively atmosphere, super efficient service, this is essentially a large bar/restaurant. It has a bewildering array of all kinds of Belgian beers and a great list of pizzas. But you can also get bistro classics like steack frites. I had the meatballs a la Liegeoise which were superb (they come with super crunchy fries and homemade mayo). The meatballs are in richest and sweetest sauce imaginable - pure joy! Don't miss this place, I will be back and back and back.

I have been several times to this brasserie. Interiors and location are beautiful but it is often too crowded and noisy. Food is ok and you have some veggie options (nothing spectacular though).

I would recommend to go for a beer (they have many nice options) or for a brunch and have instead dinner somewhere else around, as the area is full of restaurants. Staff is not always lovely probably because there are too many clients...

The very positive thing of this place is that you always find a table (since it is very big) and that they close the kitchen later than other restaurants. So if you didn't book anything on a Saturday night and all restaurants are full... well, then it's a very good option :)

This place is somehow "real", which is Brussels is a relatively big deal - no, or few, Eurocrats; but students, locals, some normal tourists. It's a brasserie-type pub, large, so very likely you'll get a table; you can just have a coffee, but it might smell of fish. Was there once on a Sunday (not that many places open for food then) for a really late lunch; excellent Bruges Blanc or whatever it is called and excellent toast tartare. Dessert okay. And later on Monday for coffee; this time there was extremely grouchy, Paris-after-hangover service, but it wasn't hostile towards us specifically, but directed against the world. (Maybe the owner runs some reintegration program?) First service on Sunday had actually been nice. In this area, would go again.
