Charming traditional French restaurant with proper French service but modern touches to the cuisine. We chose the five service lunch menu with a small addition of black truffles since it was a special occasion. The service was properly solicitous. The food was exquisite, so much so a lone Japanese diner across from us could not stop photographing his lunch, course by course. The saddle of rabbit melted in the mouth. There was a slight mix up in the dishes we ordered but the problem was soon sorted. It’s always nice to see Veal cheek on a menu and this one didn’t disappoint.
Each course was a picture and a pleasure right to the end of the petit fours. Despite what to many might look like a stuffy French restaurant the staff make you welcome and relaxed. And given the long lunches pursued by the other customers Comme Chex Soi is a lovely place for lunch. To get a table for dinner you have to book very early. We were lucky we managed to get a lunch table as the restaurant was full the day we went.

For 27 years (as of 1979) Comme Chex soi was rated with 3 stars by the Michelin Guide. This Oasis of great cuisine has been known by the top three star Guide Michelin Chefs as the place where they go for their own culinary enjoyment. Pierre Wynants was known in the entire world for his refinement and mastery of fine cuisine.
In 2006 Pierre Wynants passed on the reigns of his kitchen to his son-in-law Lionel Rigolet. Rigoler and Pierre Wynants daughter Laurence are now the fourth generation to run the restaurant. Currently the restaurant holds two Michelin stars and is still the best place for gourmet dinning in Brussels.

My wife and I had the 6-course tasting menu for €195. To start the canapé with a crisp tuile filled with the delicious grey shrimps from the North Sea. We then had three canapés a tartare of Brunoise chopped, marinated vegetables like carrot and celery, a ginger camba. The main course was a moist veal with a creamy sauce reduced with cumin and turmeric. A wonderful dish. Desert was crisp chocolate tuile cylinder filled with cherries and an almond milk espuma accompanied by a strawberry sorbet.

The Art Deco of the restaurant is stunning and the kitchen is worth a visit. Lionel Rigolet is really an accomplished and talented Chef who deserves the attention of Michelin for his refinement and willingness to innovate. I think a third Michelin star would be well deserved. The service was perfect almost not noticeable just there when the symphony needed some more music. This is without a doubt one of the best table in Belgium! Merci Chef!

I had lunch at this Brussels classic with three friends on a week day. As usual (I have eaten here several times over the last few years), the service and the exquisite food preparation and presentation were impressive. Not cheap, but worth it. Wonderful to see a restaurant keeping up this high standard for, what is it, a century now? Chapeau!

We were four and were all disappointed
The quality level has really gone down and the lack of inventiveness is evident
It's sad when a "star" restaurant lives on its past
