Charming traditional French restaurant with proper French service but modern touches to the cuisine. We chose the five service lunch menu with a small addition of black truffles since it was a special occasion. The service was properly solicitous. The food was exquisite, so much so a lone Japanese diner across from us could not stop photographing his lunch, course by course. The saddle of rabbit melted in the mouth. There was a slight mix up in the dishes we ordered but the problem was soon sorted. It’s always nice to see Veal cheek on a menu and this one didn’t disappoint.
Each course was a picture and a pleasure right to the end of the petit fours. Despite what to many might look like a stuffy French restaurant the staff make you welcome and relaxed. And given the long lunches pursued by the other customers Comme Chex Soi is a lovely place for lunch. To get a table for dinner you have to book very early. We were lucky we managed to get a lunch table as the restaurant was full the day we went.
