I stayed at Hotel Agenda Louise during a last-minute business trip to Brussels, and was surprisingly pleased by the hotel. The hotel is a 10 minute walks from the Louise metro station, along Avenue Louise. It wasn't hard to find, and the lobby was staffed 24 hours a day. The area is quiet, there are a couple restaurants nearby. A night, Avenue Louise may have a couple prostitutes here and there, but it is by no means a seedy area, quite the opposite, actually.

Lobby is normal, nothing special, elevator is very small. There is a same day laundry/dry cleaning service (drop off before 9 am, pick up at 6 pm).

The room was larger than I had expected. It had cable TV (smallish screen, with BBC1, BBC2, Euronews, no CNN), wifi, a minibar (stocked with soft drinks only), air conditioning, a trouser press, and phone. The mattress was normal, not too good, not too bad. The bathroom was of a good size, not luxurious, but ok. Pipes behind toilet were dusty, but I didn't really care.

Breakfast buffet was fairly basic with 3 types of cereal, orange juice, fresh fruit, pastries, bread, chesse. Regular european breakfast.

There were some bits of renovation being done while I was there, and the (English) workers apologized for the noise and disturbance. the front desk staff, was polite and helpful.

I have stayed at a multitude of other 3 star hotels in Brussels, and this is the best I have been to. It is actually better than some 4 or 5 star hotels I have been to. I will definitely return and do recommend it.

Compared to my previous stays in Brussels where I always managed to stay in terrible hotels the names of which I deleted from my memory, this hotel was a nice surprise.
Wifi access for free in the whole building, nice, big room, even little kitchen, friendly staff, breakfast okay. Nice pizzeria just around the corner (very pleasant in the pouring rain), relatively central location in a nice neighbourhood. Excellent for business travellers.

Stayed in the Agenda for two nights in September. All three of the front of house staff I encountered were charming, exceptionally helpful people. A credit to the hotel.

The accommodation is a little faded and jaded. Although the bathroom was spotlessly clean and supplied with fresh towels every day, the carpet in the room has been around a long time and it is punctuated by stains of several descriptions. The furniture has an old fashioned, somewhat depressing look to it. I'm really puzzled by Frommer's Guide (which actually highlights the quality of the furniture). The rooms in this hotel are crying out for refurbishment !

When I returned to my room after a meeting on the 30th of September, I found the door wide open. At first I thought I had been robbed. On further examination, however, it appeared that one of the cleaning staff - who was in the process of making the bed - had simply abandoned this task (no doubt intending to return to it) and had not bothered to lock my door in the meantime.

The breakfast room is compact and although it would be possible to swing a domesticated cat in it, big cats of the wilder variety would find it claustrophobic. The breakfast itself is fine: good quality coffee, fresh fruit salad and a good selection of rolls and croissants.

I'm not sure whether I would return to this hotel. There's no doubt that 100 Euro a night for a large room in a hotel adjacent to the Avenue Louise represents good value in monetary terms. But the decor in the bedroom had a deadening effect on my spirits. If the proprietor were willing to invest some money into the refurbishment and brightening of all of the bedrooms, then I would cheerfully return to the Hotel Agenda Louise. But I will not be holding my breath in relation to this one !
