If there is one beer bar i am always going to head for on any holiday to Brussels it's Au Brasseur.
If you want to sample some great beer's in a tavern that is always busy and in an area packed with pubs ,bars and restaurants then this should be your first port of call.
Au Brasseur itself is a cool tavern, the interior is awesome with many beer posters and enamels adorning the wall's and plenty of seating options both inside and outside but be warned this place is popular and finding a seat can be difficult.
The beer range in here is outstanding with all the classic Belgium beer's you could wish for and they also have a very popular 6 beer taster set were you can sample some delicious and varied beer's all served with a tasty bowl of peanuts to go with your choice of quality beer's.
We were here on a Saturday afternoon and as always this place was packed,a very pleasant member of staff managed to find my twin brother Stephen and I a table for two were after a quick study of the beer's on offer we ordered a Vedett beer for my twin and for me I opted to have a De Koninck beer and after a short wait our beer's arrived accompanied with a nice bowl of peanuts.
Our beer's were delicious served in tip top condition,we just chilled out and soaked up the great atmosphere of this superb busy and popular bar.
These are the type of places I love to visit on any holiday to Brussels,a great bar, friendly attentive knowledgeable staff, fantastic beer's in a great location, what more could you ask for.
We really enjoyed our beer's in here before we moved on but as on every other visit to here we had a great time sampling some classic Belgium beer's.
Very easy to locate just off Grand Place ( Grote Markt ) you will find Au Brasseur on Rue Des Chapeliers in an area packed with pubs, bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture.
Opening hours are,
Monday to Sunday,open from midday.
A fantastic tavern serving superb beer's and well worth checking out.

Close to the Grand Place you find this beerbar who serve great traditional belgium beer at reasonal prices. Stff was friendly and smiling. The place was crowded but still cosy. I'll be back.

When strolling in the ancestral narrow streets between Grand Place and Manneken Pis, this is the perfect place for a break and a drink. This cosy bar offers a big variety of beer, but it was too cold that night, so we preferred to go for their Vin Chaud (Warm red wine). Inside (as well as outside) was full and lively with pop music and Oldies from the eighties and nineties.
We recommend this lovely café bar.

Great location(right off Grand place).
Nice little friendly bar, seemed to be mainly locals inside.
All in all if you're in the vicinity you need to visit here, you won't be dissapointed.

Loved this place as soon as we saw it next to the Grand place. Location is perfect with great choices of locally brewed Belgian beers, you can taste the various types by ordering small portions of 6 of them. Good outdoor seating, enjoy the Brussels weather sipping your favourite beer.

This small but cozy pub is a great place to try one of the degustation menus: 3, 6 or 9 beers served on one of their wooden planks.
For the single visitor I would arguably recommend not going above the 6 beer option as each beer is served in quantities of 15 cl / 5 oz.
Outdoor seating is available, even during the cold winter months.
Well worth a visit and I'd love to go back for my next trip to Brussels.
