Went on an excellent tour with an enthusiastic guide who shared a lot of information about the family and how they helped many Jewish people. Corrie sheltered them in secret hideaway in her bedroom when she and sister Betsie helped them. She travelled the world telling their story. She wrote a book about this which has been made into a film ' The Hiding Place'

This was on my bucket list and did not disappoint. Please get tickets in advance as a tour only hold 20 people which is tight in rhisxsmaller home/space.

Before you go-read The Hiding Place and read with your children. It will mean so much more going. The guides are all volunteers and show you their heart for people and Corrie! The watch shop is still there but refurbished and updated.

Loved loved loved this tour and continue to tell everyone about going.

It is no secret that this famous family were Christians, please keep that in mind before enjoying the free tour of their home to learn their history.

Just like the lives of the ten Boom’s the tour is rich with teachings of God’s love and providence in difficult times. Our tour guide was a volunteer, she was very kind and engaging. It felt like we were actually in her home, or as if she were related to the family some how. It was charming, interesting, and enjoyable.

If you’re looking for a different perspective on a very painful time in history, this is a great place to learn about a family who sacrificed everything for the chance to love and protect God’s people.

Arrived on a Saturday and got there just ten minutes before the afternoon tour, and we just made it into the tour. They were really nice and let a few people over the 20 max in after us. I wish I had reserved a morning tour which you can do in advance but you cannot reserve an afternoon tour. We had a baby stroller but they let us carry it in and store it in a room. The stairs are really small and steep, so it was hard to get the stroller up them but we did. On the tour first you spend about 20 minutes sitting in the living room hearing the story. Then you see the hiding place room and a hallway with photos and then end in the dining room. I was hoping to see the watch shop and store but it is an actual jewelry store in use, so you don't go in those rooms. We were out in 50 minutes. Staff are so kind. Tour is free. I think the presentation was a little hard to follow if you don't know it in advance and could be easier to follow if there were pictures shown of the different people as the story is told.

It’s hard to believe that in this very modest sized home large numbers of Jews were provided refuge and comfort during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. For this free tour an English speaking guide relates the fascinating story of the Ten Boom family who demonstrated their Christianity in a very courageous manner, operating the Dutch resistance right under the noses of the Nazis. The story can be read in The Hiding Place, authored by Corrie ten Boom in the years after the war. The tour of the house begins in the living room and proceeds upstairs to Corrie’s bedroom (perhaps only 6’X10’) where a small space was hidden behind a false wall. In this tiny space, countless Jews were hidden for a short period and then escorted to another safe house along the underground. As you meander through the house, various exhibits illustrate the history of the family and the ministry of Corrie following the war. At the completion of the tour you can make a donation to the museum. The tour takes about an hour, and it’s best to reserve a spot for the English tour ahead of time online as space is limited and the English tours are only done at certain times. The lovely town of Haarlem is just a quick 20 minute train ride from Amsterdam and the ten Boom house an easy walk from the train station. A must see for any WWII buff!
