We had a 2 week stay in Olav's studio in de Pijp. It worked perfectly for us. It's a studio so just one reasonably sized room with TV and computer and couch, as in photo. Not a lot of storage but ok. Good kitchen with everything you need. Small bathroom but all worked well. Really comfortable beds, reading lights, good curtains to make the room dark for sleeping. Area is great, restaurants everywhere, supermarket round the corner, laundry up the road, and not so touristy, markets a couple of blocks away, trams nearby and good 20 min walk or so into centre of town. Major museums easy walk away, and Olav was a good host. We did an eating tour of the city on our first day with Hungry Birds, would recommend. And a city bike tour next day to orientate ourselves with We Bike Amsterdam that we really enjoyed, did a country bike ride with them too that we loved. If you want a really good meal out, Sinne just a block away is a one star michealan restaurant that we just happened upon and had a fabulous 3 course meal for Eu 38 a head. Great place to stay!
We stayed here as we had tickets to watch the European Athletics at the Olympic Stadium. The apartment was ideally situated for this, with us walking one way and returning by tram. The restaurants in the local area are far more pleasant and reasonable than the center of Amsterdam and had a real buzz about them. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Olav's apartment was lovely to stay in. It was great for us as we were only on a short visit to Amsterdam and we found this place very enjoyable. The area that the apartment was in was beautiful, very close to the tram line, shops and easy to get around. The apartment itself was great, it was especially nice to have a cup of coffee in the lovely little garden out the back, especially when the sun was shining. The apartment is situated behind "The Office" which made us feel secure when we left our belongings there while we were out during the day and evenings. Olav was a great host, he was around to ensure that everything was alright for us in the apartment and allowed us to keep our bags in the apartment despite being checked out. All in all it was a great experience, much better than staying in a hotel or hostel. We would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Amsterdam.
A very nice studio apartment. Very well appointed kitchen. The only dining table is outside, so when the weather is rainy, as it often is in Amsterdam, the only place to eat is at a desk. Very clean. The garden area is nice when the weather is good.
I visited Amsterdam for the first time, with two friends. We had a great experience staying at the Van Gogh apartment. It is in a good neighborhood, about a 15 minute walk from downtown Amsterdam. There are several restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores nearby.
Olav was really great- he came and said hello to meet us, and explain the flat and the neighborhood. When one of us blew a fuse with our adapter, he came over within minutes of sending the email, and fixed it.
I would definitely recommend this flat for groups of 2-3!!
