We picked The Guestroom at random but it was certainly a good choice. On a very hot day we were met by a lovely lady and cool apple juice or a hot cup of tea was there to welcome us, and were very gratefully received. The room was lovely and having a beautiful garden to sit in was a bonus. We even had a bunch of fresh roses on the table and a basket of fruit. I would love to come back if I am ever in Amsterdam again. My only advice would be to point out that the room is down a narrow and steep flight of stairs.
Perfect location, minutes from anywhere you might want to be (but you're unlikely to want to leave) fab local restaurants, bike hire, food shops (cheese !!) wine shops etc..fabulous garden apartment in the basement of an amazing dutch style terrace house leading directly into the garden. Quiet streets, slept so well..fully fitted kitchen..we ate in...we went out...we really didn't want to leave and will be going back for certain...thankyou Marit for looking after us so well !!!! loved it..!!
The apartment is quite small but perfectly arranged and equipment, so we did not miss anything and it looked spacious to my family (four people), Very nice, quiet, and typical neighborhood, typical of Amsterdam/Netherlands. It is approx 3 km from downtown but a fast and frequent tram 9 brings to downtown in 10 minutes, so perfect location in my opinion. The host is very kind, discreet but available as needed.
- the stairs are steep so for people in good shape
- the bike rental next to the apartment have limited availability so to rent a bike (good option in Amsterdam) you will probably have to go downtown
Stayed here with my partner and teenage son and loved it! The apartment is beautifully decorated, really well equipped and very comfortable. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful - the hand-drawn map of the local area with comments re food, prices etc was really useful. The garden is lovely and there were fresh flowers in a vase when we arrived, as well as milk, juice and fruit. We had breakfast at a little bakers nearby and ate at the bar/ restaurant at the end of the road a couple of times - excellent food, drink and service. Travel into the centre was really easy by the no. 9 tram which passes by the zoo and through several of the main tourist areas, ending up at Centraal Station. I couldn't fault the Guestroom at all and we would definitely stay there again :-)

It's a lovely apartment with everything you will need. It's just outside central Amsterdam which means it's quiet and to drive to the apartment with a car is ok. Trust me you don't want to drive in central Amsterdam! It's a very short commute with the tram to go to any of the attractions though, so I really liked the location. The neighbourhood has a lovely bakery and grocery store not even 200 m away. I would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone visiting Amsterdam, perfect for singles, couples or with up to 2 children.
