“Nice apartment in a great neighbourhood”

There are no surprises with this apartment, what you see is what you get (in a good way). everything you see or read on the description is as is. It is a simple, nice, very clean and fully functional apartment with a bol of fruit and a bottle of wine waiting for you along with owner Martin upon your arrival.
As others have mentioned, the stairs up to apartment are fairly narrow (this is Amsterdam after all) so avoid very large luggage, and bathroom is pretty small but complete.
What we liked most about the apartment is the location on a nice quiet street in Jordan district if you are looking to stay near red light or other heavy party places, don't go hear. If you want to be in a place where it is quiet, safe, but can walk everywhere (we did) this is for you.
Around apartment are at least 2 grocery stores, plenty of good restaurants (try Koh I Noor indian restaurant 5 minutes away, it is excellent) , 10 - 15 min walk to museum district, 5 min from Ann Frank house, 10 min - 15 to the Dam and less than 5 min to bus station to get back to airport, trams and buses are close by also.
Wi-Fi is free and worked very well
Finally, Martin would answer e-mails rapidly and was there waiting for us even though we did not arrive until 10 PM. Thank you Martin.
Over all a nice place we recommend without hesitation.

“Bright, well maintained apartment in a good location”
Reviewed 21 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Overall: My wife and I stayed for five night in mid-April 2015 and highly recommend the apartment. A very good apartment, in a well maintained building. Clean, well furnished. We would send our friends here.

The apartment is located in the Jordaan, a very good neighborhood. Two floors up from the ground level, up narrow winding stairs. A more recent construction than many Amsterdam buildings, so the unit has large windows and a glass door that can be opened, allowing you to lean against a railing over the street. The apartment is very bright as a result.

Living room is fairly spacious, including a pull-out couch, a dining room table for four people, flat screen TV. Wifi worked fine.

The kitchen has all the utensils, plates and pots needed for cooking. No dishwasher, but a gas, four burner stove, refrigerator, separate freezer and a washing machine. Krups Nespresso coffee machine provided along with coffee capsules.

Bedroom has plenty of shelves, drawers and space. Bedding is new and in good condition. Bed is firm and comfortable

Bathroom has two sinks, a bathtub and a separate shower.

Logistics: Owned by a couple. Smadar was responsive to our inquiry and questions during the reservation process. Martin met us at the unit and was friendly and helpful.

“Little gem in the Jordaan”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Perfect apartment to enjoy Amsterdam from. The location couldn't have been better, close to everything but on a quit non-touristy, residential street. Great little casual restaurants, grocery store, and boutiques where all close. Walking distance to many of the main sights, easy and quick transportation to the many more. Just a few blocks from the de 9 Straatjes (the 9 streets), Anne Frank House, dam square.

The apartment is a small one bedroom perfect for a couple or small family. It is on the 2nd floor (3rd to Americans), is modern and quit. The apartment is appointed simply and very comfortable. The stairs up to the apartment are steep but not anything out of the ordinary for Amsterdam. We found them easy enough, as did our 3 and 5 year old. The main bed was comfortable, the futon was less so, fine for the kids. The bathroom has a shower stall and separate large bathtub. The kitchen was typical of a rental, the necessities all present but less than what you find in your own kitchen.

Smadar was a very gracious host. She was waiting for us when we arrived and check in a few days later to make sure everything was as expected. She was very helpful and courteous. All fees where clearly stated before we even agreed to the rental and transactions where easy.

I would highly recommend the apartment to a couple or family with one/two small children.
