Budget accommodation on a converted cruise ship, what more can you ask! It was pretty good actually, the service from the staff was excellent and the breakfast did the job. The ferry ride over to the city was a pretty fun thing to do each morning on a three day trip, it may have become tiresome on a longer stay as it is essentially a commuter route, but it sets up a trip into the city well.

My last stop in Europe, and a change of venue from what I had originally planned. This is a former cruise boat converted into a floating hotel, but unable to move anywhere. It is just visible from the river-side of Amsterdam Central station. There is a FREE local ferry that takes commuters to and from the city every half hour. There is level or ramp access to the ship, then a lift to all decks (floors). Whilst there appeared to be no air conditioning, there are good opening windows that let the breeze in in summer. Whilst Booking.com stuffed up my booking and I was left with 2 single beds instead of 1 double, I still found it to be an excellent venue, but with one catch! Breakfast on the first morning is included, but after that it's 12 Euros a day - which is hugely expensive.

There is an onboard bar, but no Heineken (the local Dutch beer) on tap. This aside if/when I decide to go Amsterdam again I will stay here, but book direct.

Stayed here for 3 nights and The botel was definitely not the best but equally not the worst. The boat 637829% rocks and sways quite a bit so be careful if you’re sea sick like myself. The room is an okay size. The shower/toilet is too small, really stuffy and started to smell like urine. Wouldn’t recommend the breakfasts at all. There’s a nice little cafe on the corner though opposite where you get on and off the ferry. Staff were friendly and helpful. The view are beautiful at night from the botel. Very easy to get to airport - central train station - free ferry NSDM the one at the end next to the bike racks.

We stayed at this hotel as we were looking for budget hotel for our weekend stay in Amsterdam, firstly the Botel is basic but very good for what we wanted,,the rooms were not on the big side but they were kept very clean ( cleaned every day along with clean towels )the bath room was rather on the small side but again very clean,,the staff were good pleasant and helpful when needed,,the breakfast was good, hot, but could have done with a bit more choice,, the hotel is very easy to get to via the free ferry from central train station, so all in all if your looking for a clean affordable hotel for your stay in Amsterdam look no further than the Botel

So first off Amsterdam is crazy expensive. Botel is an excellent budget option. It has a free ferry that runs all day into early am from behind the train station. Yes it’s a boat. But our room was bigger than any room I have ever stayed in in Amsterdam. The bed was comfortable and the staff was super friendly. They have a restaurant across the way with very reasonably priced food and a pretty diverse menu. The shower was typical European size. They have an elevator if you packed too much and need one. They have a bar on the boat that has a pool table and video game. Breakfast was fine but not fancy. But again for the price it was great. I would definitely stay there again. Oh and if you can, get a room in one of the letters. That would have been cool.
