Owner description: The Rijksmuseum is the museum of the Netherlands. The completely renovated Rijksmuseum tells the story of the Netherlands from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Including works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals, and more! Most famous is Rembrandt's masterpiece the Night Watch. A new display of the collection, a renewed building, new public facilities, a revamped garden and a new Asian Pavilion. Open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.

There are plenty to see at Rijksmuseum but being around the complex itself was already amazing.

Some artworks were on tour to Sydney, Australia (the irony) but managed to see a lot of Rembrandt’s work famous artworks were there.

The museum was big so be prepared to spend a lot of time to go through everything. Wear comfortable shoes! Spend a little time in the room with decorated stained glass.

This is an amazing museum, with much to offer. Having limited time, we bought the audio guide and followed the "Highlights" tour, which took us through all the galleries but highlighted key pieces. We got to see other works too, of course, but enjoyed hearing about some of the most notable art within our time frame.

You could spend all day here! So much to see! We downloaded the free app on our phones before we went in which saved us buying the audio guide as it plays you audio on specific points of interest. It can be exceptionally busy around more famous pieces of art but very interesting.

We did not experience the crowds that many have to deal with...thankfully. We were able to take our time and see what was important to us. Even with the museum map, it is confusing to follow a reasonable path.
