Me and my husband booked this boat without having any high expectations.
And boom! - Nice, clean and tidy. Breakfast made by staff-perfect! Rooms are clean, hoovered and got everything you need. All you need in Amsterdam -is just to fall on the bed after long day!
As it was warm outside we could enjoy drinks and views on the top of the boat.
Both Jefrey and Emil looked after us.
Always helped with advise where to go and what to do. They even made us sandwiches to go and gave us some soft drinks,as we were checking out 2.30am. Wouldn't choose anything else over this boat. Thank you for leaving only positive memories about this stay in Amsterdam!

Where else to sleep in Amsterdam than on an house boat? It's a boat, so there are bunk beds and shared toilets and showers, there's a sink in the room. Although it was snowing when we were there, it was not cold in the room. The boat is moored in the inner marina, so no waves or rocking of the boat or squeaking of ropes. The breakfast is a buffet with plenty of choices including fresh home made pancakes. The location is 15 minutes walk from the central train station, but Amsterdam is small, so you can cover the whole old town on foot from the hostel.

Room tip: All the rooms are the same

If you want a budget stay in AMS, this a good place. Booked last minute so not that bad. I stayed in the first floor which is the best, downstairs is very small and small tiny window. So if you can ask for 1st floor would be good.
(+) good location, good breakfast, clean
(-) the rooms can be small, so if you are big person, maybe an issue will raise. At night you can hear your neighbour cabin so can me annoying. However this the price when you sleep in a boat. The toilets and shower are shared.

The vita nova is in a great location, quiet but close enough to the city centre that it is easily walkable. It is a stone throw from central station for all the trams and metro. It has a museum on it's doorstep - nemo museum and is close to the all the shops for souvenirs, pubs, snack bars and shops for booking trips. The breakfast provided is a good sized continental breakfast with cereals, yoghurt, milk, cold meats, toast, cheese and pancakes with sauces all available. Staff are very welcoming and showed us all of the amenities. They were very approachable and willing to assist where they could. Free WiFi is also available. Yes, the rooms are a little small and basic but they are clean. This is accommodation for people who are looking for somewhere clean and cheap to hang their hat while they explore Amsterdam. For the prices, it really can't be beat.

Quite a nice boat and very nice owners. They serve a good breakfast in the morning but starts at 8 am. I would have preferred to eat earlier and get on with the exploration of Amsterdam. The boat is basic and the rooms small. It is however a very good deal for the money. They have 2 shared toilets with showers and 2 extra showers on the boat. The sharing of toilet can be a little annoying in the morning as everybody wants to use them. Especially if people starts showering and the waiting is quite long. Rooms are small but contains a sink. All the sites are within easy reach.
