I had read some of the reviews, and most of them talk about the gardens as the highlight, so I was a bit worried when we got there and it was really cold and pouring rain. I thought we would take a quick tour thought the palace and that would be it.
Well, we rented the audio guides, and listened to every single detail and extra information on it!! You get the whole story of the Royal family (which we were not very familiar with when we got there, and they were almost like friends when we left! :) ...all told in a very nice and interesting way that only makes you want to know more.
The rooms are furnished and you almost get the feeling there are people still using them.. It doesn't feel so much like a museum but like an actual "house".
I'm sure the gardens are very beautiful in the spring and summer, but even without them, it was worth the trip!
I did find it a bit pricy. You pay 12'5€ for the entrance, then another 3€ for the audio guide and 4€ more for the parking...

Great palace and garden. A must-see for all tourists to this country.
And quite different style than Versailles or Schönbrunn.
Take audio-tour (3 Euro), about 1 1/2 hours plus gardens.

Been here several times, historical place where lived and died several kings and Queen Wilhelmina. Still furniture from that time, beautifull gardens. many times special exhibitions.

The Het Loo is the main attraction of the Town.
TIP: There is free parking to the side of the palace but you have to walk to the official parking to get the tickets for entering the palace

IMPORTANT TIP: One tip is that you can actually visit the palace and then exit and come back, there are two corners of the ticket that can be taken away at the entrance so if you are two couples and don't mind taking the walk separately, you can save some costs since the ticket was 12.5 EUR !!!

The gardens are beautiful and the tour is very well prepared with English translation this time!!! We had problems at other locations with the English translations but Het Loo has a PLUS for this.

The tour can be done also by persons with disabilities since there are elevators for every floor.
