Lovely location to rest during or after cycling in the beautiful area. The sunny garden was welcoming just as the terrace, and happy and friendly staff available to make you comfortable. We had a nice refreshment in the garden and a lovely dinner at the terrace. We hope to come again and then as guest for a couple of nights.

Intending to visit one of the yearly Shakespeare performances in the month August/September 2014 my wife and I searched a hotel in the neighbourhood of the open air theater Diever.
In a short distance - 5 minutes bij car or 15 minutes walk - we found a nice small hotel in the middle of nature (wood, hunebeds and the nearby village of Diever), called Landhotel Diever.
This hotel is managed by a lovely and cheerful lady assisted by a good staff. The modest nummber of rooms are clean, simple but complete; provided with good twinbeds, small desk, wardrobe, TV and a private bathroom with shower and toilet. All rooms have a small private terrace. The hotel offers meals in her own restaurant and serves drinks and so on by nice weather on the main terrace.
Possibility for free parking.
If desired the hotel can arrange bikes/E-bikes) for you and, in case, may deliver maps for touring on demand.
The hotel can take care for tickets for the Shakespeare stage performances August/September (obligation for booking a two nights stay).

Room Tip: Book not a room next to the parking area

We had a lovely trip to Diever. My dad was born here, and my son and I came to see where he grew up. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel and the large room. Although I knew the hotel had high ratings, it was nicer than I anticipated. The staff were very, very helpful. We had dinner there one night and it was very good. Breakfast was wonderful. The owner was very helpful in getting bikes for us to rent. She didn't have one that was small enough for my son, but showed us where to go in town. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the centre of town, but close to many walking trails through the Drents-Fries Woude. My son loved the sheep in the field beside the hotel, and spent much time trying to "feed" the lambs. The setting was lovely in the middle of the country but very close to town. We had a wonderful stay, and I will definitely be back again!

Friendly welcome from owner and hostess Lisa. She shows you around and gives you all the necessary information for a pleasant stay. Good-sized, simple rooms and bathrooms, all on the groundfloor. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ample and you can have a very nice dinner for a reasonable price. Right on the edge of the forest, just outside Diever the hotel is ideally placed for a walk or a stroll into town for some (grocery) shopping or eating out. This was our first time there, but we will be back. Nice place for seminars and meetings too.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view on the meadow.
