“Lovely location in the Peak District”
Reviewed 9 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We had an amazing long weekend in the Peak District in the Overbrook Barn. We arrived on Thursday late evening (around 10pm) and the area was full of snow! Thank to Gemma's indications we arrived easily at the location. The house was warm and very cozy.
Just woke up, we realized to stay in a sort of heaven.
The house and the kitchen were very well furnished. From the Overbrook Barn, we have reached Buxton in less than 15 minutes and Bakewell in almost 40. It's a very nice place if you like the nature, the Alpacas are very funny animals.
If we will go again in the peak district I will sure go back there, so I really recommand it.
Thanks to Gemma and her family, for the warm hospitality.

“Beautiful place and countryside”
Reviewed 29 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

What a beautiful place to stay, we stayed in the week between Christmas and New Year and had snow which just added to the magic of our week. Gemma and Simon cannot do enough for you and the Cottage is set up for every eventuality and is very comfortable. I would definately recommend Overbrook Barn as a place to enjoy the countryside and relax

“We found a real gem!”
Reviewed 14 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

There comes a time in life when you go on holiday and choose to settle for nothing less than you have at home when it comes to comfort, cleanliness etc. Overbrook Barn offered this and so much more. From the excitement when first spotting the barn, surrounded by fields of sheep and Alpacas, to closing the door to this beautifully presented 'home from home' at the end of our stay, nothing disappointed. The barn offers a lovely retreat feel and you can't help but chill from the moment you walk through the door and first view the beautiful stylish interior. Although thermal attire was the order of the day for walking, within the barn it was as cosy as can be. The kitchen is very well appointed and cooking for 6 adults was a breeze. Everywhere was immaculate from decor to bedding and fresh flowers on the dining table for our arrival perfectly represented the care, consideration and professionalism offered by our hosts Gemma & Simon. Do go, you'll love it!!

“Fantastic cottage in beautiful surroundings!”

We have just returned from three wonderful nights and four brilliant days spent at Overbrook Barn on Farbrook Farm, Derbyshire. We were a party of six adults aged between 27 and 57 and one tiny six week old baby!
From the very start of our experience, the owner, Gemma, was nothing but helpful. She was so prompt and efficient in dealing with our enquiries and provided all the information we needed about our stay, and it really put our minds at ease about travelling so far with the youngest in our party!
From our arrival on Thursday afternoon through to our departure on Sunday morning, we were nothing but completely at home in the barn - it is absolutely delightful. The whole place was gleaming clean, very stylish and contemporary but with a lovely homely "country cottage" feel. The rooms were plentiful and all of the party commented on the softness of the beds (to the point we checked the make so we can look for them at home!) and the comfort we all felt staying there. The facilities are excellent, everything you could possibly need is right there, and the guide which has been put together for guests is really comprehensive and we referred to it a lot to help us plan our stay.
The location is great - remote but the main house is just next door and the views are amazing over the valley below. Lots of lovely Alpacas surround you in the fields which is really quirky, we really took a shine to them! Buxton was just a short drive of around 5 miles away, no more than 10 minutes by car and the village of Flash itself around a two minute drive. Whilst there we spent a lot of time in Buxton (wedding at the Pavillion Gardens, a beautiful place), and we also spent an afternoon in Bakewell which I would highly recommend, and a morning at Chapel-en-le-Frith at the Chestnut Centre Wildlife Park which was lovely. There is an abundance of things to do and places to see right on the doorstep of this property, so much so that we all want to come back and do more in the future!
I really cannot recommend this beautiful holiday let enough to all those considering it. It is such a lovely place, so welcoming and full of warmth. It is a real "home from home" and we will certainly be returning in the future - thank you Gemma and family for a fantastic stay, see you soon!
