The bahnhofstrasse (central train station road) starts outside the southern end of the train station. Walk the entire street, or hop on one of the blue trams heading south, and which stop at the Paradeplatz. Regardless of how you see the street, it oozes wealth. Rolex, Prada, Givenchy, Gucci, Louis Vitton.. they are all here - and them some. You are now on what is possibly the most expensive shopping street in Mainland Europe.. and actually affordable to some here, as Switzerland has much higher salaries to counter the expensive costs of living.
There are a few coffee shops, department stores, and chocolate shops spread around the bahnhofstrasse, so worth the trip to at least window shop - even if the coffee is all you can afford.
