Well located if you get a room with a view, away from the main streets, but nice quiet area and easy to walk into the centre or use the free travel pass the hotel provides for guests. Nice sized rooms. Good water pressure in the shower. Our TV didn't work, they did offer to move us to another room, but we weren't that bothered by it.
I would recommend a stay here, each room has a picture of a different artist and it is all nicely decorated.

Dear client, Thank you so much for your review. It is nice to read that you enjoyed your stay at the Tralala despite the television problem. The atmosphere of the hotel is musical and is based on the famous Montreux Jazz Festival. The Tralala is located in the old town of Montreux, which is very charming. We would be really pleased to welcome you back here ! Best regards, Tralala team

Wifi was dropping connection and internet on all my devices. 15 CFR breakfast was almost none-existing. Bread was used by other guests and hotel could not find a peace of bread when I asked them about it. Very limited illumination in the bathroom. If curtain was closed it was almost dark in the shower.

To me hotel Tralala didn't live up to my expectations.

We arrived before check-in time, so sadly our rooms weren't ready yet. No problem, we could leave our luggage in the baggage room. We got offered a welcome drink, which is always appreciated, but my tea was so hot I burned my tongue. The hotel lobby is dominated by a huge dome shaped red lamp, under which you can have a seat. Be warned though not to bump your head against the massive lamp. I can say from personal experience: it hurts a lot.

When we returned in the evening, our room was ready. Sadly the elevator was broken, so we had to carry our luggage up to the third floor. The elevator stayed broken during our three day stay. It is clear that the hotel room was meant to have a modern vibe, but I totally didn't understand why there was no closet to hang your clothes. Their were two (!) coat hangers which were hung on a railing attached to the ceiling. There was a tick red velvet curtain to shield your clothes (and the window and the desk) from the view. Very unpractical. The room was clean though.

The bathroom was very small, with a rain shower without a handheld shower. Not very convenient. I had a hard time regulating the water temperature, so alternating I got showered with water that was too hot and then too cold. This could easily have been avoided by installing a handheld shower.

Breakfast was nice though. Options were rather limited, but the bread was fresh and you could cook your own eggs.

Not worth four stars though.

Perfect for a short stay, located in a very beautiful and quaint part of Montreux. Wonderful staff. Room was basic but fortunately had a balcony with beautiful view. 10 mins walking distance to the lakeside bars and restaurants. Definitely reccomend for short stay.

I have no complaints about this ultra cool boutique hotel. It is in old town set on a very steep hill. It seems to cater to Europeans and locals at the downstairs bar which can be a good change from all the American tourist.

As for a family of four, it’s a good alternative to the lake. If this is your only lake experience then stay on the water and if not, definitely make it to old town.

One tip when coming from the train, walking up hill with luggage was really hard and I’m in good shape. I took both the bus and train up and prefer the train. There is a stop above the hotel by one block and so worth the wait when you have luggage.
